'Why.' Charles thought as he tore through the corridors. 'Why was this thing after me.'

The flickering lights impaired his vision causing him to collide with a stretcher that was abandoned in the middle of the corridor. But he wasted no time collecting himself and shoving the stretcher out of the way once he heard the vicious creature chasing him.

Turning a corner, Charles bolted through another corridor. The one that the creepy nurse had led him through before.

     *Bang

The creature growled as it collided with the wall. Failing to maneuver as well as its prey. Yet, Charles was not dumb enough to look back. That each little moment that the creature was delayed was another moment that could be used to escape.

Charles eyed the double doors at the end of the corridor. Passed those would be the hospital lobby. If he could get outside and into his truck, he might be able to escape the creature.

With that plan in mind, Charles charged toward the double doors and crashed through them full force. But on the other side, he was not met with the hospital lobby, but with another corridor stretching farther ahead.

Having no time to waste he charged for the next set of double doors, but he was met with the same thing as if this one corridor went on forever. And like the corridor before, there wasn't a soul in the building.

The snarls grew louder behind him, and he knew the creature was catching up. His death was merely a matter of time.

Just as he was about to accept that fact, the corridor began to shake violently, making it harder to run, and the corridor was filled with the whispering sound of some odd chanting.

Things seemed to fall in the creature's path and large cabinets and stretchers knocked the creature aside, allowing Charles to narrowly escape past the double doors. He found himself in the hospital lobby, the destination that he had thought to be out of reach.

     "Charles."

Charles looked up at the sound of the familiar muffled voice, and to his shock, he saw his wife calling him from outside the glass doors of the hospital.

He ran over not caring how or why she was there. He needed to get out there. Outside. He had to take his wife and go.

That was the only thing he could think of, but once he tried to push through the doors, he found that they were locked. His wife banged and tugged at the door attempting to open it as he did the same, but it didn't budge. He knew that he would have to break the glass.

Just as Charles realized this, a howl rang out from the corridor. The howl was so strong that the building shook violently and caused Charles to lose his footing. The pieces of the ceiling began to fall as huge cracks spread across the floor.

Charles struggles to crawl to the glass doors as they begin to crack also. He fought to move forward as debris fell from the ceiling and pieces of the floor began to cave, and just as his fingertips grazed the door, the floor under him gave way.
