Chapter 13

ALEX'S POV!

I zipped up my suitcase after putting my blue converse in. I picked it up and put in on the bed so I could just leave tomorrow morning. Yeah, I'm leaving tomorrow morning and we all agreed to make this the best day ever. I walk into the main room and see Mark, Jack, and Ellie whispering to each other.

"Uhh..hi?" I say, they all look at me and smile like idiots. "So what are we doing today?" I ask

"We are going to Sky High!" Ellie says, I look at her puzzled. I have only been to California twice and never have I been to or heard of Sky High.

"What's Sky HIgh?" I ask, clearly confused "You'll see. Now go and put on some comfortable clothes and meet us in the parking lot." Mark said, whilst getting up.

I nod and go put on some black leggings, a blue tank top, and my favorite baby blue vans. I through my hair into a ponytail and walk to the parking lot.

"Let's go shall we." Jack says, 'Wow! That's the most Jack has talked to me since yesterday!' I think to myself. I slide into the far back of the van-type-thing and Jack slides in next to me, Mark and Ellie jump in front.

"Hey..." I say. I don't even know why Jack is mad at me. I turn towards him "Did I ...do something to make you mad?" I ask

He looks at me and shakes his head " Why would you think I was made at you?" He asks, honestly confused.

I hesitate for a moment before answering, "Well it's just... you have barely talked to me since yesterday... I just thought I did something." I whisper, he looks at me then grabs my hand, gently caressing it.

"The reason I haven't been talking to you is because... well I didn't want to get attached to you, to then only have you leave and possibly never see you again." He says, with a hint of sorrow in his voice.

I look out the window, still holding Jack's hand, "Jack, this isn't the last time we'll ever see each other... I mean maybe it won't be in person, but we will still be able to talk to each other." I say. He doesn't reply.

We finally arrive an hour later. I step out of the van-type-thing and stretch. Jack pokes my stomach causing me to giggle. We walk inside and pay for our way in. My eyes go wide as I look around. It's full of trampolines! I kick off my shoes and grab Jack and we run to a trampoline, both of us laughing like two lunatics. I glance over and see Mark and Ellie doing flips, which causes me to laugh some more!

~The Next Day~

I pull on my shoes and yawn, memories of yesterday still fresh in my mind. I grab my suitcase and the four of us begin our journey to the airport. "Guys... I had a blast yesterday and I'm glad I got to spend my last day here with you guys!" I say as my t=eyes well up with tears. Ellie wraps her arms around my shoulders, "Hey, that's what friends are for, right?" She asks. I nod and wipe my eye. We get in the car and drive the rest of the way in silence.

When we finally arrive, we exit and Jack hands me my luggage. We walk in and wait in line to give my ticket. After that we find a place to sit. After a long silence it's time for me to board my plane. We all stand and Ellie is the first to hug me. "I will chat with you very soon!" She says, next is Mark who gives me a bear hug. " Let's collab sometime!" He says, I nod, smiling sadly, and let go.

Last is Jack, he wraps me in his arms. I nuzzle his chest and I can already feel the tears forming in my eyes. "I'm going to miss you a lot..." I say between sniffles, he rubs my back. "I'm going to miss you way more!" He lifts my head and kisses me, gently placing a hand on my face, I feel myself blush.

He pulls away and whispers. "This isn't goodbye." I give his hand a final squeeze, then turn and walk to the door. I wave to them goodbye and walk on the plane finding my seat. I close my eyes and savor every moment that just happened between Jack and I. Then just like that, I was off.
