1 week later.......
I hadn't talked to Cove about it again since my bedroom.
As far as that night goes; I was thankful that Jaxon had come barging into Coves apartment when he did. I think it may have gone further if he hadn't.
I was thankful that I left my house when Cove came to talk to me, because I don't think he really came to talk. I think he came for another reason.
I just knew I wasn't about to take his shit seriously. He said he wanted me. He doesn't get to use me for sex like everyone else. His "want" means "sex."
And my baggage; that he won't want in either sense.
Stop thinking about it.
My brain had been going nuts. I couldn't stop thinking about it. It didn't help that our entire group is made up of all people that remind me of Cove, and they were all on break. So now they're over at my house all the damn time.
I can't complain of course because I love all these idiots and I missed seeing them every single day when they were still at our school.
But at the moment I was avoiding Cove, who kept trying to get me alone to "talk."
I knew better.
We were sitting on the couch, now, playing video games and talking. I involuntarily glanced over to Cove who had a beer in one hand and his phone in the other.
"Hey Riv?" Bellamy called to me.
"Yeah?" I said without looking up from the T.V. in front of us.
"Can you pretty please give me my sweatshirt back?" He pleaded. He had given me an extra one that had been in his car when it was cold out the other day and I hadn't given it back yet.
I whined and groaned. "It's all the way upstairs, Bell!"
"Please! I need it." He said sweetly.
"Fine, fine." I smiled knowing all along I obviously was going to go get this sweatshirt from my bedroom.
I was going through my clean laundry basket in my room now because I had washed it. I did not, however, think about the fact that I had been avoiding ever being in a position where Cove could get me alone.
And of course, Cove barged into my room before I could finish my thought.
"You can't keep avoiding me Riverlynn!" He whisper yelled at me.
I turned around startled, sighing at his words. "What are you talking about?" I whispered back.
"I tell you I want you and you just ignore me?"
"Take the hint!" I whisper-yelled back.
"Bullshit! I know you want me too. You know it."
"Your 'want' and my 'want' are very different things." I said quietly and looked down.
He groaned. "Fuck! You are so blind sometimes!"
I was about to yell back, hurt by his words, but my expression turned to confusion before I could. He walks to me in two strides and grabs my face, smashing his lips onto mine. My arms instinctively grip his torso lightly and a small gasp escaped through my nose in surprise.
I froze for two seconds before my brain took control again, kissing back.
I want him too. And this time there was no one to stop this from happening, unless someone from downstairs came upstairs...which they would never do while playing that stupid video game.
