jeno stared at the girl as she frantically unzipped every pocket of her bag, switch between opening and closing her locker multiple times and pat the both of them down in hopes of magically finding her lost phone within their possession.

"if you lost it yesterday i don't think you'll find your phone with us. we're wearing different outfits you know." jeno sighed, having no hope left after spending his entire morning, day and now evening running around the school to find her phone.

that earned him a deadly stare, "for all i know, you wear this black hoodie of yours every. single. day." jihye poked at his chest repeatedly with her index finger.

"hey! i have enough to wear a different one each day of the week thank you very much." he gave a mocking expression as jihye poked her tongue out.

"okay well, mister rich guy, can you please call my phone again? i literally cannot go on any longer without it." she paced with her fingers intertwined in her hair.

the boy scratched his raven hair in doubt, but grabbed his phone out for the hundredth time, the third time in the past twenty minutes alone. jihye groaned in despair as the call went straight to voicemail again.

"jeno... what do i do?!" she fanned herself with her hand. "stop i'm actually going to cry, i have everything on there. my photos, my lyrics, my bank account details and oh my god. all my rants and hate letters in my notes. JENO, help me!"

jeno pursed his lips, feeling useless. "i'm sorry ji." he bit his lips. "we can get you a new phone?"

jihye shot him a dirty look. "i don't want a new phone, i want my phone."

defeated, jeno slowly pulled jihye into his arms guiding her to rest her head on his chest. she couldn't help but feel teary-eyed. it was the same feeling as when you're holding in your tears but being unable to hold it in any longer when someone asks if you are okay.

"everything will work out. okay?" he patted her head with a soft voice. "you said that the last time you saw it was before your dance practice, right?"

wiping her eyes, jihye nodded.

"well then, i'm sure someone just accidentally took it thinking it was theirs. we've left lost and found my contact details so we'll just wait it out for now. " he held her shoulders, pulling her away from him to see her face, wiping away her tears with his thumb. it devastated her to see her in such state. "when's your rehearsal today?"

jihye sniffled, calming down as she used her sweater paws to wipe her face dry. "less than two hours"

he wrapped his arms around her shoulder, leading her to his car. "we have plenty of time. what do you say about grabbing bubble tea, hm?"

she lowered and raised her head slightly. the girl couldn't help but feel an intense feeling of affection. jeno always knew what to do whenever she wasn't feeling okay. it made her feel loved.

though, she wasn't proud of herself. she was being too close to someone else's boyfriend and it made her often feel guilty. "thank you jen."

"everything will be fine." he reassured, tilting his head slightly to rest the side of his head on top of hers.

jihye immediately moved her head away, making his head fall off. they shouldn't be acting too affectionate. it wasn't right. but it made her jealous her to think that someone else was getting this kind of treatment all day every day.

as they shared drinks together, enjoying each other's company and throwing their heads back in laughter, jihye completely forgot about her missing phone until jeno received a call. she waited, trying to get pearls through her straw to hear what he was being called about.
