Tsu'tey was grumbling to himself angrily at dinner, pissing off Ke'ya who was sat next to him, "can you stop bickering to yourself," she hissed, elbowing him, he was so annoying.
"Shut up," he grumbled, looking at her with narrowed eyes.
"Neytiri," who was sat on the other side of Tsu'tey enunciated the pronunciation to the new comer known as Jake Sully.
"Neytili," he grinned, Ke'ya face palmed mentally, going back to her food. Tsu'tey looked at Jake with a jealous look, before his eyes drifted back to his food.
Ke'ya watched him from the corner of her eye as he looked at his lap. She knew he was jealous of Jake, Neytiri was meant to be his future mate, but she couldn't if Tsu'tey was actually jealous of them or he just wanted what he could see was obviously blossoming between the two. He was too closed off for her to actually read him, but she didn't care. He was just a pretentious asshole.
Tsu'tey huffed and stood up, a large gap being left between Ke'ya and her sister.
She scooted closer to her twin, catching the attention of Jake and Neytiri, "whats her name?" Jake whispered quite loudly to her sister.
"Ke'ya, my younger sister," Neytiri smiled, leaning her head on Ke'ya's shoulder.
"Only by 2 minutes!" Ke'ya groaned, rolling her eyes before diverting her attention back to the man, "Hello," she said, looking at the newcomer, "Jake Sully?" It came out as a question to which he nodded.
"You two don't look like twins?" He said, his eyebrows furrowing. That was one of the features that made his different from the others.
"We're fratoornal," Neytiri smiled, thinking she got the pronunciation right, "Fraternal," Jake grinned, happy that he was correcting Neytiri's pronunciation instead, "you must have learned English from Grace?"
The two girls went quiet before exchanging a look, an awkward tension hung in the air, "Where did Tsu'tey go?" Neytiri changed the subject, finally noticing the existence of her future mate after he had already left.
"I'm not sure, and I don't really care" Ke'ya shrugged, she didn't like Tsu'tey, in-fact she despised him, it was fairly obvious to everyone.
"I'm going to look for him, Jake come," Neytiri ordered, Jake following her like a lost puppy. Ke'ya returned to her food, alone once more.
Just as she was about to enjoy her delicious dinner that consisted of cooked meat and leaves.
"Where did they go?" A very agitating voice said behind her, "To find you," she hissed, picking up her food, "I can never eat in peace," she grumbled, now leaving Tsu'tey alone as she whispered profanities to herself.
She heard the sound of footsteps running after her, "what do you mean, 'to find me'" Tsu'tey asked, an annoyed yet confused look on his face, "When you ran off, my sister, who deserves better than you, took her new friend and went to look for you." Ke'ya explained, as she continued to to stuff her face with food.
"She's with him?!" He hissed, his ears turning down, "what, you jealous?" Ke'ya teased, her tail swishing back in forth, "no." He grumbled.
"Listen, its not like you love Neytiri, sure you care but we all know you wanted Sylwanin," Ke'ya shrugged, the footsteps stopped and she looked back to find Tsu'tey standing there, an unreadable expression on his face.
"What?" He asked dumbfounded, Ke'ya looked back at him before turning away, she didn't mean to bring up her dead sister, who she loved dearly. It was instinct, everyone knew, well, thought that Tsu'tey was in love with Sylwanin, the two were insanely close and the elders said they had a spark in their eyes when they were near each other.
"Never mind," she said, quickly walking away from the scene. Wanting to get out of there as soon as she could. Why did she bring her up. Why. Why. Why.
She sat down on a thick branch as she sighed, her plate of food long gone. Ke'ya mentally slapped herself, before resting her eyes on the palms of her hands.
"What is wrong?" Neytiri whispered from behind Ke'ya, placing a hand on her twins shoulder, "nothing," Ke'ya whispered, shrugging off Neytiri's hand.
"I am not stupid," Neytiri sighed, placing her hand back onto her sibling's shoulder and pulling Ke'ya towards her before toying with her hair.
She separated a piece of unbraided hair, Ke'ya liked to keep her hair natural, which annoyed Neytiri who was constantly trying to get her to change it.
Neytiri began to braid the wavy strand she had picked out, "Now tell me." She ordered, tugging on the hair slightly to enunciate her words.
"I brought up Sylwanin to Tsu'tey," Ke'ya whispered, small tears escaping her eyes.
Neytiri stopped braiding, "What?" She knew that Tsu'tey loved Sylwanin, it was no secret, "I didn't mean to! I swear to Eywa, but I just don't know why," Ke'ya whispered more to herself than anyone else.
"It's okay," Neytiri sighed lightly as she continued to weave Ke'ya's hair.
"Why don't you care about Tsu'tey still loving Sylwanin when he's bound to be with you" Ke'ya asked curiously, hoping her sister would let her in on a secret.
"You have to keep your mouth shut about this," Neytiri laughed and leaned in to whisper to Ke'ya, "I may have a little crush on the newcomer," Neytiri giggled, immediately pulling away from Ke'ya's ear and resuming her braiding.
"You do?!" Ke'ya laughed excitedly, her sisters ears turning a purple shade, but it quickly died down, "But you're meant to be mated with Tsu'tey after our birthday," Neytiri's head dipped down as she sighed, as long as she was destined to have a mate, she could not do anything about it.
Or could she?
