Riley

Do you ever sit through a conversation but yet feel isolated? Do you ever think that everyone around you knows more about you then you know about yourself? That they are all here for some hidden motive?
Story of my life

"Come on Riley, aren't we meeting the boys at the coffee corner?" Alyssa said interlocking our arms pulling me along with Tanya while I sighed nodding to them

These two girls have been around for longer then anyone else, for as long as I could remember but we couldn't be further from different
They are all convinced that this whole experience is normal, that everything going on behind closed doors but I couldn't object any more
They are happy to be the kind of girls to sit around at home waiting for the guy to come home. To be the one to look after the kids
To be the one who is limited to what she can do

I don't want that
I don't want any of that

I've spent my entire life trying to fight for freedom, to try and find out more about myself, where I came from, what I belong to
And this is not it..

I don't know much about my parents, whenever I ask my grandmother she'll remind me they were young and stupid, they weren't ready to be parents
If I had asked grandpa when he was here he would remind me that I was safer with them and I agree
I was always safe with the pair of them, but that doesn't mean I need to agree to their traditions like this one

"Let's go" Tanya giggled as we walked into the Café to see the three boys already sat at the table talking about something
Most likely something us girls aren't at liberty to know

The moment we walked in though, their eyes lifted up from what they were looking at and each of them were looking into our direction
Tanya greeted by Harry while Alyssa was scooped up by Dane. As I got closer Callum stood up leaning forward to greet me with a kiss just like the other boys had but just like last night I shifted my head so it landed on my cheek

I didn't plan of giving up my first kiss to some guy like this
It was going to be a choice, not a demand

"Ladies" Dane said making both Tanya and Alyssa while I couldn't help but roll my eyes slighty
If I didn't love these girls I would not even be entertaining this at all, I would have walked out that door
But I do so here we are..

--

The afternoon was going as tedious as ever. I hated these weekly trips, I don't see the point nor is there a reason for them anymore
During college I appreciated them more, it gave a chance to catch up every week when we all had busy schedules but now? We see each other more often then not so there isn't anything to catch up on considering the boys don't ever fill us in on their things anymore

"Hey Riles!" A perky voice said, a voice I would recognise from anywhere, I smiled turning to see Michelle stood at the counter with another blonde
"Excuse me" I said to the table before getting up and heading over to the duo

I'd known Michelle for a while now, maybe 2 months? She bumped into my here actually. I had sat in the bay window reading like I do most evenings and I guess Michelle is as much of a book lover as I was

We got into a long talk about the entire book and thus started probably the realist friendship I have to date

"Hey" I smiled as Michelle pulled me into a hug greeting me warmly before we turned to her new company
"Riles, this is my boyfriend Eldon. El this is Riley" Michelle said making me
"Nice to meet you, I would say she's mentioned you but she uh hasn't" I said making Eldon laugh who nodded
"Sounds like Michelle" He said making Michelle glare at him before turning back to me

"You're one to talk, what about Romeo who showed up last night over a necklace? A boy doesn't chase you down about that unless it means something" She said remining me about it

That necklace is the bane of my life at the moment, it contains a ring. One that I don't want, not to I was associated with me
But Callum is very adamant with it, both Tanya and Alyssa have a similar one but they are happy enough to wear it as an actual ring considering they are happy to have the new title

I on the other hand am not..

"Nice to see you again Michelle, Sweetheart your coffee is getting cold" Callum said coming over after as if he knew we were talking about him
"It's fine. I'll be back in a minute" I said to Callum hoping it would deter him but of course it bloody didn't

"I'm Callum, nice to meet you" Callum said holding his hand out to Eldon
"I'm Eldon, I uh don't have a clue who you are" Eldon laughed making me chuckle alongside Michelle
"Well I'm Riley's Fi-" he started before I cut him off

"Friend, you're my friend" I said turning to look at him, he had a defeated look on his face one I recognised often but one I was slowly becoming numb too

"Okayyy well we'll leave you with that Riley but it was lovely seeing you" Michelle said smiling at me placing her hand on my jacket before heading off with Eldon approaching a table full of 3 other guys
They looked a lot more normal then my table to say the least

"I think we need to have a talk Riley" Callum said grabbing my arm pulling me away over to an empty booth

This was probably not going to go well..
