okay, so this concept first came up by a friend of mine who preferred to stay anonymous (which I will respect obviously), he didn't give me a plot, just a concept...

SOOOO... because I wasn't sure how I could fit the concept in with a good, short storyline... I wrote this oneshot, hated it, asked a friend for help, and I still wasn't happy with the idea, but suddenly, one day, I'm in the bath... AND AN IDEA HITS ME. So. Here we go. Enjoy.
Before we begin, there is some important information that you should know. As per usual, Quackity is a duck hybrid, and Wilbur is a fox hybrid. Both of them have animalistic instincts tailored to their hybrids. They also have things like an increased sense of smell, scent glands (located on the area right between your neck and shoulders), and (obviously) hybrid traits, like ears, tails, wings, etc.

Also, I ended up thinking "wow... this concept barely even fits the storyline!" once I finished, but I LOVE THIS ONESHOT A LOT AND I REFUSE TO CHANGE SHIT SO DON'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU EVENTUALLY SEE ANOTHER ONESHOT WITH FOX WILBUR AND DUCK QUACKITY MKAY!?!?!?!? /lh

with that... enjoy!

The sound of laughter filled the air as Quackity ran through the forest, excitedly giggling as he slowed down, looking for a spot to hide before Wilbur came. Despite how fast Quackity tried to run, Wilbur was catching up quickly, smelling him down.
Quackity heard his steps, and quickly looked around and hid behind a tree, smiling. He tried to keep his wings from flapping with excitement, not wanting to give himself away.
Wilbur soon made it closer, looking around and sniffing the air quietly to try and catch Quackity's scent. He caught his scent soon thanks to a small breeze, a familiar yellow feather brushing past him along with the wind. He smiled, "Oh, Quackity...~" He spoke softly, carefully stepping around the small clearing to act like he was looking around for Quackity. "Where are you...~"
Quackity tensed, trying not to laugh, thinking that maybe he'd win this game.
Wilbur glanced over at him with a smile, he silently stepped over, and he grabbed Quackity's shoulders from around the tree. "BOO!"
Quackity shrieked loudly and laughed, "NO!" He quickly shook his hands off and started making a run for it.

Wilbur laughed as he followed, "Quackity~!! I'm gonna get you!!"
"NOOOO!! NOT THIS TIME!" Quackity whined a little.
Wilbur giggled, "QUACKITYYYYYY~" He was quickly catching up.
"NO- NO I REFUSE TO LOSE AGAI- GAH!" Quackity shrieked again as Wilbur suddenly leaped on him, causing them both to land on the ground, Wilbur pinning Quackity down.
Wilbur laughed triumphantly, "Got you!!"
Quackity laughed with a slight wheeze, "Nooooo!!"
"Sucker!" Wilbur stuck his tongue out. "You're too slow!"
"Not my fault I can't fly yet. If I could, I'd win every time!"
"Flying is cheating anyway!" Wilbur huffed as he sat up.
Quackity sat up as well, "That means using your nose is cheating too." Quackity pouted slightly, crossing his arms.
Wilbur smiled, rolling his eyes playfully. "Okay, fiiiine... That's fair, I suppose."
Quackity smiled, laughing softly.

Wilbur and Quackity have always been close. Ever since they met in preschool, they've been the best of friends. Wilbur was 17 now, and Quackity was 15. Even though they may seem like unlikely friends, they were very close, and you wouldn't be wrong to assume that they liked each other a little more than friends.
Nearly everyone that met the two and has seen them together has assumed that they were dating. Even when they'd deny it, it was clear to see they loved each other. It was clear to all except to each other.
Wilbur was hoping to make that clear today, he had to tell Quackity now, he couldn't wait any longer. He wanted Quackity to know it... at least know it before Wilbur may never see him again.

Wilbur sighed softly, "Quackity... I need to tell you something- Well, two things."
Quackity perked up, looking up at Wilbur with calm, curious eyes. "Oh?"
"...My family and I will be moving in a few days... I.. don't know where. They haven't told me a lot, but it's urgent that we move. I only found out yesterday."
Quackity's expression dropped, tears filling his eyes, "What?? You're leaving??" He sat up slightly more, leaning in towards Wilbur.
Wilbur's heart shattered at Quackity's sad tone and expression, he saddened too, "I'm so sorry." He held his hand, "I'm sorry, Quackity."
Quackity shook his head, "Wilbur... no, please! Please stay with me... I don't have anybody, I just-" He teared up more, "I don't want you to go. I don't want to lose you."
Wilbur teared up slightly, "Quackity... no, no, I know... it's okay." He hugged him close. "I promise that I'll find you. No matter what, or how long it takes, I promise I'll find you." He rubbed his back.
Quackity hugged back, crying softly. His wings folded in, trembling lightly. "Please, don't leave me..."
Wilbur hugged him close, "I'm sorry."
