They were in the library, with a map, pen, silent, whispering, trying to see how to get to the cave.

-You're not listening! -Nicole whispered.- Look, you follow the steam to the waterfall.

-It 's right there. -Kim agreed.

-I don't know, guys, it's starting to sound dangerous. -Cameron said, nervously.

-Why don't you stay home? -Charlie asked her.

-For God 's sake. -Mrs. McAllister said.- Stop chattering and sit down!

Nicole was going to sit at her table, but when she saw Taylor sitting at another, she quickly walked over to her and sat down next to her.

-Taylor, are you coming tonight?

-No.

-Why not? You were there. You heard Keating. -Nicole tried to convince her. -Don't you wanna do something about-

-Yes, but, uh...

-But what?

Taylor took a deep breath.

-Keating said that everybody took turns reading, and I don't wanna do that.

-Oh, God. -She complained. -You really have a problem with that, don't you.

Taylor's blue eyes looked at Nicole with depth. Taylor really wants to go. She didn't wanna miss the meeting.

-No, I don't have a problem. Nick, I just... I don't wanna do it, okay?

-All right. -Nicole looked at her book. -What if you didn't have to read? What if you just came and listened?

-That's not how it works.

-Forget how it works. What if they say it was okay?

-What? -Taylor asked.- What, are you gonna go up and ask them if...?
Nicole shrugged.

-No, no. -Taylor continued.

-I'll be right back. -Nicole said,

-Nick. Nick.

Nicole went back to the other's table.

At night, in pajama, while washing their teeth, Nicole went to Taylor and said, pointing at her:

-You're in.

She went to her room while the others did too. Dr. Hager went to her room too, and Nicole made sure she did that. Cameron did the "thumbs up" thing with a smile and Nicole closed the door, while getting her jacket. And obviously, a lantern. It 's night. She left it on her table, while contemplating the book that was there. "Five centuries of verse" . Nicole frowned. She opened it and she smiled when she saw Mrs. Keating firm.

An hour later, the girls went out of their room while using a blue lantern. Their jackets were on, with their hoods on. Dr. Hager's dog started barking. Nicole gave her food and started running, after the girls. They went out of the principal door, while Nicole pushed them to go. They started running. It felt like a gloomy music like in a horror movie was going to sound.

Nicole finally found the cave. A bird started to rise and Charlie pulled off her hood, startled, trying to see through the flashlight and see what was there.

Some of them already went in. Meeks was taking off her hood when someone shouted.

-Agggr! I'ma dead poet! -Charlie shouted, with a pirate voice.

-Jesus, Charlie. -Meeks put a hand on her chest.

-Guys! Over here! Ha, ha , ha. -Charlie laughed, while showing the others the entrance.
