I had a great time writing this one and I hope you'll love this as much as I did!

Side note: This actually had undergone a massive rewrite because the original storyline kind of drifted apart from my intentions, but I hope the revision is still enjoyable for everyone!

=====

To be Luffy's sister, Dragon's daughter, and Garp's granddaughter was honestly... Oh boy.

How do I even begin to explain my family tree?

My brother—and captain—is one reckless dummy. My father? The most wanted man in the world. My grandpa? A FREAKING MARINE.

Now, you might wonder; with relatives so insane beyond comprehension, you'd think that I would be too. By the fortune of the gods, I am as sane as I can be, or at least, I believe to be.

Piracy wasn't for me, and yet I am considered one. Granted, we garnered the attention of the marines and the government for doing... reckless stuff; I am not exactly a thieving and scheming bastard unlike most wanted pirates in all of the Red Line. I try to be as reasonable and as levelheaded as I can be; sharing and carrying the burden of Nami's sanity as Luffy's death-defying thirst for adventure would often put the crew at immense amounts of risk. Sure, we had strong fighters who are capable of defending and deflecting any danger that comes our way, but that doesn't mean that it would not endanger our lives!

The most infuriating part? I know I can handle myself. I know that I am capable of holding my own against any threats that might come running on my path, but I can't even do that. Every time I make an attempt to fend for myself, to show my friends in the ship that I was capable of protecting them in my own way, Luffy would just come down swinging with his rubbery body and take that chance away from me. He is my brother and I know that he is just looking out for me. He is protective; too protective in fact.

Annoyingly, frustratingly, I-could-just-rip-the-strands-off-my-hair protective.

It's like, he doesn't believe I can protect myself; that I am capable of facing strong enemies and obstacles if I put my mind to it. I wanted so badly to prove to him that I can do it on my own, that I am strong in my own way. My strength may never equal with his, but I know that if I set my mind to it, my strength will uniquely shine through.

Little did I know, it would shine through. With the help of a certain long-nosed sniper...

=====

"(Y/N), watch out!"

A booming and assertive voice would shoot past my ear as I turn towards him with a snarl. Already, Luffy had effectively knocked out an enemy that I was supposed to fight in one clean sweep. Curling my fingers into fists, I stomp my foot on the earthy soil as I glare at him and scream, "What the hell Luffy?! I had that guy right where I wanted him!"

Luffy pulls his arm back with a snap as he matches my gaze with his own glare. "Stay in the ship, (Y/N)! You'll be safe there!"

Before I could even yell at him some more, he went and dashed off to beat the enemies that were about to swarm his way. Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbei were quick to run after him; running to different sides as they unleashed their strengths as well. Brook, Franky, and Robin were near Sunny guarding the ship as well as the trio of a navigator, a doctor, and a sniper. I think Zoro went a little too far on the side.

Face red and arms shaking, I let out a scream that echoed throughout the air. I kicked the dirt beneath my soles as the dust would dance up to my nose, making me sputter and growl as I try to swap the dust particles away. My brows raise when the sweet, shaking voice of our doctor calls out to me, "(Y/N), it's alright. Besides, you'll be much safer here than out there."
