Chapter 5

Before we reached the fight,maybe even my death, I wanted to make sure if any of us made it out alive it would be my friends but more importantly Skylar. I mind linked her while we were running.

"Hey ummm Sky? I just wanted to let you know that I love you. Honestly I know I haven't been the best sister and we fight alot, and I mean alot, but nothing will ever change the fact that I love you and will protect you. If you see me or Dad,you know....leave, then run. Don't stop. Find your mate and live your life."

"Why are you telling me this? You think we're going to die? Oh my god you think we're going to die!"

Typical Skylar. You gotta love her but sometimes she over reacts.

"There is a possibility and that's all I'm saying. But if we are gunna die then I want to let you know how I feel." I told her.

She was going to tell me something until we heard loud snarls. I saw a dead body to my right but it wasn't one of our pack members. We ran through a patch of bushes and came to a clearing. The sight before me made me gasp and Skylar's eyes to grow as wide as possible.

There were dead bodies, blood, and fighting wolfs everywhere. Our pack generally had wolves the colors white to black but no browns or other colors. I could tell just by how many wolves weren't black,grey, or white that we were losing. Badly.

I scoped the scene and saw Jay fighting off two enemys when I saw a third try to sneak up behind him. I sprang into action and attacked the sneaky wolf. Jay had alpha blood but that doesn't mean invincible.

I quickly grabbed the wolf by the scruff of the neck and shook my head do they lost balance and we being thrown around. I dropped them and they were up on thier feet in a flash. Then our eyes met. No, not my mate but a female. Packs don't usually send out female fighters. This distracted me for the second she needed and took it. She swatted my paw so I tripped and pounced on me. I landed on my back so I was able to snap at her throat and claw at her stomach.

We both got some pretty good hits at each other until she flew off of me. I quickly got up and saw Cole was all over her. Before even a minute passed, he had pulled out her jugular and she lay frozen on the ground. He always never did like to play with his food. he liked doing things the fastest way possible.

I have him a short nod to show my thanks and we both sprinted seperate ways to help fight. I ran around to find a new opponent. I saw Jay and Abigail kill a wolf, Skylar and Sarah battle two wolfs and.....

I don't exactly remember those few minutes when everything stood still and I froze. I saw everything around me slow down as I stared back into my mother's eyes. They weren't her eyes though. They were lifeless pits of nothing surrounded by a pool of blood. It was the worst thing I had ever seen. That was until I was taken to the grrpund and snapped back into reality.

Someone had tackled me and I was staring into their open mouth. They were snarling at me and I honestly was defensless. I considered my mom was injured but never realised the truth. It hit me like a wall of cold water. I know there is no such thing but that was truely what it felt like to stare into my dead mother's eyes. It felt like my body was lead and too heavy to move.

I closed my own eyes an accepted my death. That was until I just felt my attacker stare at me. I peeked open one eye and then opened both when I saw their eyes. The world seemed to have gone into slow motion yet again. My inner wolf howled with pleasure while I screamed inside.

Mate.

It couldn't be. I don't think either of us were expecting it because my mate jumped off of me and ran away holwing. Some of the enemy wolfs followed while the rest finished killing my pack memebers.

I didn't know until now how long we ha been staring at each other. There were hundreds of dead bodies on the ground. Mostly my friends and thier family's. Some of the enemy's but there were still many of them fighting. At least ten minutes must have passed.

Then my senses washed over me and I bolted upright. I had to find my sister.

"Skylar! You there? What about you dad? Anyone else?"

For the longest time I had no response but I finally got one from Skylar.

"With dad, Jay, Abigail, and a few others. We ran while there was still time. Over half the pack is dead and I can't contact mom. We are heading North to our ally pack's territory."

"Okay I'll meet you guys there. Just get there safe Sky."

I ran past all of the battles and dead bodies. Past my mother and old house. Past all of my memories and past my old life. Everything had changed. The most important thing to ever happen to me so far and I had blocked hal of it out o my mind.

But then again I said it was the most important thing to happen to me SO FAR.
