Chapter 6
I was running as fast as possible. My mind felt numb while occasionaly feeling a stab of pain and emptiness. Another pack member has died. I could feel everyone I used to know slowly, and painfully, leaving me forver.
I had stopped focusing on running and realised I had arrived to my family's old ranch house. I gave a short grunt to let them know who I was. Relief took over me when I saw my friends, dad, and sister.
"You made it! Thank goodness!"
"What took you so long?"
"Are you okay? I heard what happened. I'm so sorry."
It was just like old times when they would pick me up to go to school. Come to think about it, it was just this morning they were teasing me. This was just a more depressing version.
"Everyone quiet down and let her realx. We set out a outfit for you on your bed. Meet us when you're ready." My sister told me.
I shifted and scrambled inside not wanting to be seen naked in front of my guy friends. Unlike most girl werewolfs, I still care if a guy see's me in less than he's supposed to.
When I ran past the kitchen and living room, I saw a lump laying on the couch. I didn't bother to stop and see who it was based on I was naked and he would probably still be there when I finish getting ready.
I slammed the door behind me and rushed to change into some clothes. Werewolfs have an unusually high body temperature but I was still cold from being so exposed. When I saw what they had brought me, I let out a low growl. A pink top with a tiny black skirt. Ya it was pretty warm out but really?
I didn't wear skirts or dresses often because you have to be careful to not get the dirty or sit properly and stuff. It did look really nice though. Whatever, not like I have much of a choive since we are trying to not be killed right now.
I got dressed and combed through my hair with my fingers. I looked around and took a moment to remember all the good times I had in here. My sleepovers, when my sister got scared and came to me for comfort, and when my mom tucked me into bed. It doesn't feel real that she's gone. I didn't notice my eyes were watering until I felt a drop toll down my cheek. I wiped my cheek and eyes when I realized I was crying, again. Man I'm pathetic.
I left my room not wanting to remember the memories anymore. When I reached the living room I saw everyone waiting for me. The person on the couch was still there and looked like they hadn't even moved.
"So.....what's the plan? Also, who's on the couch. I smell beer all over them." I asked. None of us were old enough to drink and they had so much alcohol on them I couldn't pick up a scent.
Skylar was the first to speak up. "That's dad. He felt mom die more than any of us. He went on a rampage then got knocked out drunk. He won't get up."
I actually wasn't shocked to hear this. I thought I had felt pain, my dad probably felt like he died. Most cannot survive without their mate. Your mate was made perfectly for you and makes you complete. I felt sorry for him but he should be strong for the family he still has left.
"Just leave him Kat. He'll wake up in a bit. Like you said, we beed a plan. That pack is probably looking for us. First let's figure out who that pack is and then why they attacked us. Also need to know their allies so we don't run into them." Skylar took charge in going into details.
Now I don't want to go into all the details that followed of us arguing and thinking so I'm just goong to skip to when there was a knock on the door. We didn't hear them walk up because of our yelling at each other. We picked up the secent. A werewolf.
"Everyone gather in a group and get ready to attack. I will answer the door and if anything happens, attack and run." Jay ordered. Since he used his alpha tone, everyone immediatly did as they were told.
Jay opened up the door and none of us could believe who we saw.
