NE'ZULA TURNED AROUND AND WAS OVERJOYED WITH WHAT SHE SAW......
"father!" she smiled and ran towards him and jumped into a hug.
he stumbled back and hugged her back, smiling at his daughter.
"it has been a while, daughter." tsu'tey said, still in the embrace. "listen, i do not have much time, but, trust your instincts."
she got out of the embrace, "what? what do you mean."
"bad thin—-" he was cut of and ne'zula's surroundings started warping.
"father!!" she said as he disappeared into the surroundings.
everything went black, and her eyes opened, under the water, her queue connected to the spirit tree. she disconnected it and swam up.
she gasped for air and turned to kiri, who was seizing under the water, her queue still connected.
she dived down and guided the unconscious girl above the water, and neteyam and rotxo helped her.
"cmon!" ne'zula yelled.
"kiri!" tsireya exclaimed.
"what is wrong! what is it?" tuk asked in a distressed voice.
"it was a seizure." neteyam replied as he pulled kiri onto his ilu.
ne'zula had both her hands covering her mouth, holding back tears.
"is she breathing??" rotxo asked as neteyam did mouth to mouth. "is she breathing?" he asked again.
instead of replied, neteyam continued doing mouth to mouth. suddenly, kiri gasped for air and began breathing, but remained unconscious.
"oh thank god." ne'zula removed her hands from her mouth, and swam towards kiri.
"get her to the village! hurry!" tsireya instructed.
neteyam pulled kiri up onto the ilu in a more i secure position, and raced towards the village.
The rest of the group paired randomly, leading tey'lar and ne'zula to be on the same ilu....again.
she was the once sitting behind of course, since she was new to ilu riding.
they arrived at village and were suddlenly surrounded by the people, and they aided in taking kiri to her parents.
ne'zula was in shock, the thought of loosing her sister terrified the poor girl. tears dropped slowly down her sapphire cheeks as she cried silently, not being able to control it.
to think a small situation like this for a young woman who'd experienced trauma similar or worse wouldn't affect her, but oh, it affected her greatly.
the thought of loosing another, perhaps her most cherished loved one was a huge deal for ne'zula.
the crowded room all catering to kiri, trying to help her before the actual help arrived payed no attention to the tear strained ne'zula, just as she hoped, not wanting to make this horrible situation about her.
well, almost everyone....
surprisingly, lo'ak was present, and did not take his eyes off that girl, not even once. he didn't know what to do, and it pained him to see her this worried. he spent that entire time trying to build up the courage to approach ne'zula, and on top of that, his hurt sister worried him.
ne'zula on the other hand was about to breakdown. she had experienced loosing almost everyone she cared about, and if she lost kiri, she'd loose herself.
fidgeting with the necklace wasn't enough anymore. she felt trapped. she dug her nails into her skin.
deeper,
deeper,
deeper,
and deeper they went. nail marks were visible, and as she released her grip, she ran outside.
the wind gushed against her face as she ran as fast as she could, away from the crowd around unconscious kiri.
she ran until she reached a fair distance and sat down near some palm trees, resting her back on one.
"deep breaths...deep breaths...." she whispered to herself, as her lungs filled with air. when that didn't seem to work, she gripped onto the necklace and continued fidgeting with it, her head filling up with the worst case scenarios of the situation.
obviously, that didn't help either. she sat there staring blankly ahead for a moment, a billion thoughts in that head, but none showed in her eyes.
she just sat there. sat there silently, the light breeze brushing against her face.
an hour passed by, she sat there alone. she didn't get sick of the silence, just wished someone would come. anyone.
her back started to ache, and eventually she just laid down on her side, feeling the cool sand, facing the ocean.
honestly , she did get pretty bored, but didn't want to be near the crowd of people in her and kiri mauri. she hoped tey'lar wouldn't come looking for her, cause he was not what she needed right now....at all.
the one she needed wasn't hers, and she felt like she couldn't do much to change that, because of her indirect nature and awkwardness from time to time.
