FEBRUARY PROSE
Now, hear me out.
The sweetest and cuddliest lover when you're alone with them, but also a mighty opponent when it comes to intelligence. They have the most striking eyes, softest lips, charming smile, calming voice, brightest dreams, admirable fearlessness and infectious determination.
Imagine having this with them.
You and your lover in a car parked somewhere peaceful. The seats reclined, windows closed. Their music (the ones they made sure you'll enjoy) blasts on the speaker. One minute you tease each other—making each other laugh, the next you both stare at the moon in silence, or just watch the fireworks that suddenly burst into colors in the night sky.
Your inner romantic has been appeased by how your lover searched for a song to play before inviting you to dance in the living room, or to sway in the kitchen while waiting for the food to heat up only to be disturbed by the "ding!" of the microwave, and how they will go to where you are just to see you no matter the weather—your heart skips a beat when they kiss you under the rain.
There are scenes in books you've read that now happen in your daily life like having someone that thinks about you so much they have dreams of you when you thought you were the only one who kept on having dreams about them and these tales of the nightly adventures make mornings interesting.
To make matters more fascinating, you both smell the scent of each other at random times, in random places even when you're miles away from one another.
It makes you wonder if your souls are tied with the red string just like the red string they tied on your pinky on the 3rd date, only to be outshined by the ring (and handwritten letters) they gave you on your birthday.
Grumpy as they can be but they give you flowers and cute gifts, sing and dance for you if they feel it or you requested it, stay up with you all night just to comfort you but never will they tolerate your childish whims, hide their smile when you make funny faces or the way they chuckle when you do and say things that tickle their fancy.
It's also in the way they listen even when you're a mess. You were used to hiding your feelings because sharing means fucking up and love is just something that has been conjured up by your imagination to make you less lonely because of social pressure, but they proved you otherwise.
They proved it in the way they noticed you fell asleep (you pretended) then with their softest voice, they keep on talking to you about how lucky they are that they met you until you really fell asleep because of the peace that radiates from the phone. And how they admitted their feelings at 8 AM, clumsily asking if you're interested in someone at the moment then proceeded to ramble about love and emotions for the next few days.
A man of a few words but with you, all thoughts will be unveiled without sugarcoating. It will be saturated in the honesty and truth of a friend, but with the respect and carefulness of a lover.
And most importantly, actions that seemed like an embrace and words from their lovely lips that says, "I love you. You are safe with me, but take care of yourself as you hold the two things you need to keep safe—your heart and my heart."
-my someone who doesn't realize how much i worship the ground he walks on as he manifests in the stars the love we deserve.
