YOUR WISH, MY COMMAND

If you wish to sail on a slow river
under countless glimmering stars,
safe and sound from daily wars,
then so be it.

But if not, then
tell me all lies your mouth has said,
every terrible thing your hands did,
and all the destruction your mind
brought upon.

Burn your shadow on my skin.
For with you, I will
bury my flowers,
abandon my cottage
and light my torch
to set the world on fire.

Ever since the time
when ink is more expensive than gold,
I have been in search of someone
man enough to make me fold.

He may be holding a heavenly sword,
with wings purer than mountain spring
or the muse of all my unholy desires—
the gentleman from the underworld.
