Eggshell au: Jay's au, which is a possible canon. //MASSIVE TW FOR ABUSE// Jay Patterson is seventeen, working three jobs, and providing for his family. His father developed an alcohol addiction to cope with being a teen dad, and it spiralled out of hand. His mother has very bad mental health, and neither of his parents have ever been fit to raise a child. He loves his mom with everything he is, but can't find it in him to sympathise with his father anymore, who started getting violent when he was drunk when Jay was six, and his mother started being extremely manipulative when he was around ten. He has no time for school, no time for his boyfriend's Bryce and Ollie and no time for his hobbies. He's given up on life, and a once bubbly, intelligent kid has become an anxious teen who can't get above a fifty percent in any of his classes. His boyfriends have been the only things keeping him going, but he's worried he won't be able to keep it going with his current conditions. One night, after his father came home drunk, Jay hid, and called Ollie crying. He escaped out the back door, and went to Ollie's house. In a fit of desperation, he confessed everything that had been happening to Oliver's family, and they refused to let him go home. He told Bryce, and the Jameson and Wilson families went and gathered all of Jay's belongings. Jay lived with Ollie and Jay, on alternating weeks. He quit two of his jobs, got back in contact with his grandfather, and managed to get his grades up. He improved mentally, and finally could see a future for himself. Nothing is easy for him, but it's getting better.
