"Quickly bring her inside" I demanded as Anoung and Neteyam carry Kiri inside.

____Neteyams POV____

I paced up and down my sisters lifeless body.

" How could you let this happen" My father says to me from his position next to kiri

" Sorry sir" I say

" Leave" He says a break in his voice.

I quickly walk outside and begin to run down the roped path towards the beach I fist talked to y/n.

I sat down tired from the running .
My eyes filled with tears.
Somehow I felt it was my fault . I should have been watching  her more closely.

I put my head in my hands and closed my eyes.

___________

I hand been sitting in this position for what felt like forever when I heard:

"The sea is the atan tsakem tsleng holds, wìntxu gives us its fish ulte perls ulte gold. All tsakem we take from the sea is fu ......"

The most beautiful voice.
I wiped my eyes and got up and slowly walk round the corner of the small beach.

It was Y/n . I don't know why I was surprised,  she's making patterns in the sand with shells and seaweed humming to herself.

This was the girl I soor when I connected to the ancestors tree.

As she heard me she sat up.

" Neteyam?"
" What are you doing here?"

I sniffle slightly
" Sorry ill be leaving" I quickly say turning to walk away

This is the last person I want to see me in this state.

Just as I began to walk away I heard her coming running up to me.

"Whats wrong?" She asks her eyebrows furrowed in concern.

I turn to face her.

"What happened,  are you hurt"
She quickly examined my body for any cuts or wounds.

" It was my fault" I mumble
" What was?" She asks taking my hand.

I have never seen her like this . To show this much of one emotion.

" Kiri" I breathe out trying not to let myself cry in front of her.

"Oh Neteyam " she replies pulling me into a hug

I rap my arms around her and burry my head in  her chest .

She begins to hum slightly to sooth me .

It works.

She Let's go of the hug first and gently takes my hand and pulls me to where she was sitting.

I didn't want to talk right now. And she understood.

I sat next to her where she was drawing in the sand.

Both our legs were crossed, touching .

I look at her , her long black hair and ocean blue eyes.

She traces her finger on my arm before drawing once again.

I look at my arm, then to the ground.

" Is that me?" I ask breaking the silence.

" Yes" She says turning to me.
" Neteyam it wasn't your fault" She says taking my hand in hers

I look down at the ground and she lifts my face up with her other hand.
