I dribbled the ball around one of the kids and kicked it towards the goal. It sailed right and my teammates groaned. I caught Daniel's eye and glared at him, he wasn't even being subtle about it now. His stupid ability was getting out of hand.

I moved to confront him but a splitting whistle pierced the noise of the street. I turned to see two hornets accompanying a higher ranked officer. I glanced at my watch and at Daniel. They were right on time. Daniel let out a whistle and I took a deep breath.

Now was the time to discover if I had any acting skills whatsoever. I remembered what Jane had told me, I needed to think of something that actually made me angry. I envisioned Hamilton lying and taking away Clara. I thought of the guards that had taken Archer away. I let it all turn around in my head as I walked closer to them.

"You!" I screamed towards the guards. They all turned and I raised a shaking fist toward them trying to convey rage. Was that too much?

"You took her away from me! Where did you take her?"

I started walking faster and tried to appear crazed. The officer stepped forward and slung his gun towards me. I was only a hundred feet away now.

"Stop."

I continued forward ignoring his gun. He raised his gun again, waving it towards me. "Stop."

I watched the man's finger on the trigger, I had to time the lunge perfectly. I stepped closer and yelled more towards the man. A crowd was growing around me, I could hear them whispering. I blocked it out of my brain and tried to focus on the man. The man pushed his gun out.

"I order you to stop!"

I continued to yell whatever came to mind and I saw him regrip his gun. This was it, time seemed to slow as I waited another heart beat before diving towards the man. The air exploded near my ear as I tackled the officer to the ground. His gun spun oddly and was thrown out of his hands. At least Daniel was being useful now.

I pushed the officer down and made a great show of trying to beat him up. The two guards grabbed at my clothes, trying to pull me up. I fought violently, but tried to focus on avoiding their punches and most importantly their guns. I felt a bullet rush past my ear and I jerked away from the gun straight into a carefully aimed punch. I groaned and blinked hard biting back the pain. I had to keep fighting.

Another whistle pierced the cacophony of noises and I turned towards the officer and thrust the heel of my hand towards his face.

He swore and blood began to stream out of his newly broken nose. I waited a heartbeat for him to look towards me. I scrambled out of the guard's grip, I heard another whistle and I turned to see the officer's handgun ripped out of his hand by an unseen force.

Good thinking Daniel. I dove for the gun, and bounced back to my feet after rolling, the gun safely in my hand.

"Hey!" The officer yelled.

I shot the gun making sure the guards knew what I had stolen and sprinted away from them. I looked behind my shoulder and the hornets began to run after me. They had taken the bait. I studied the houses looking for the street I needed to go down.

I slowed my sprint so they didn't lose me and turned around a corner. I waited a second before ducking into a house.

The interior was dark, ruined and forgotten furniture littered the rooms. I glanced at the other room and could faintly see where Audrey and Skye hid.

The plan was working so far. Fingers crossed it continued to. I crossed the hallway and stood a little ways away from the entryway, my fists outstretched. The hornets burst through the door and pointed their guns towards me.
