Everything is vague. Every memory's a blur, but Kai is getting used to having them again, his eyes still shut.
He doesn't know he's awake. Though he knows everything is not like it was for long time. But whether how it was was a good thing or not is up for debate. But Kai's alone-- some where-- so he could only really talk to himself.
Talking feels weird, though. Kai'd talked a lot before, but it wasn't really him for a long period of time that was just ending now. Speaking of which. . .
Even once Kai flutters his eyes open, realizing he's awake, and feeling his humanity thrive in his sight, he can't pinpoint what exactly he's even in. He tries to get up, but quickly realizes that he's tied up. His powers don't work, either.
The room Kai is in is dark, and it's hard to see or hear much except for the little AC in the wall. Kai stumbles to his feet without it hands, and bangs his head on the low roof, earning a small "ow." He walks to the other side of the room, which is only three steps away.
Kai begins to panic. He's not at all a claustrophobe, but being in a small space and not at all knowing why is scary. He kicks the steel walls, and tries to burst himself out of the chains.
Suddenly, a low voice comes from somewhere in the room. "Heh, even after you've been separated from that staff you're still a wild animal," the voice mocks.
"Who are you?! Where am I?! Where's everyone else?!" Kai scowls, searching for the voice's origin.
The voice cackles. "And what do you mean everyone else? Your 'friends?'" he taunts.
"What've have you done to them?!" Kai demands for an answer.
"Oh, if you hadn't done away with them yourself, I'd tell you," the voice replies.
Not only is Kai enraged and panicked and confused, he's now concerned. "What do you mean?" he asks, trying to relax in the tight room.
"It's funny when people don't remember a thing, it really is," the voice chuckles in a teasing tone. "Think, Kai Smith, think. . . or remember, I suppose."
Kai does as he's told, desperate for an answer. When was the last time he'd seen the others? The tournament becomes prominent one more, remembering the first time he'd felt the sensation of the staff's power.
When the flicker burst into flame, and anger came pouring out. Kai knew there'd been some-- or perhaps more than some-- taken out on Lloyd, and he remembered the tears welling up in his eyes as he bashed him in the chest with the staff. Guilt is the only thing Kai can feel now, and nothing else, thinking back to the horridness of that day and the memories that are now bound to the people he scarred.
"You hurt them, Kai," the voice said, reminding Kai of his existence.
Kai takes a few breaths, shakily. He clenches the fists trapped in the chains. "W-who are you?" he asks in a gaunt tone.
