Valentine Fitz

I decided that today I was going to spend entirely alone. It's weird to think about, honestly. I'm very introverted, I hate speaking to new people, I'm never good at social skills and I can never keep a conversation going. Normally, my days consist of being around people I knew, like for example my job, there's always regular customers that come in and look at my work, the days that I am off, I usually spend it with Camille, the days that Camille is busy, I usually find myself in the art studio, or recording songs. The recording songs part is a new thing for me. Before I met Harry, I used to spend my time in the library, or go to that pub I used to visit every Friday.

The past two weeks I've been out partying, I've been taking up lots of extra shifts, and hung out around my friends a lot. I need a me day, a full 24 hours of spending it with myself.

I haven't had a day like that since I tried opening up my own art studio, things got pretty stressful and Camille forced me to just take a break from life and spend it with myself. I took her advice and honestly it was probably one of the best days i've ever had.

I'm walking down the streets of New York, passing by a bunch of old antique stores along the way. I walk by this street everyday for work but I never really took the time to explore it. I already bought a few things, like some new canvases, paint brushes, oil paint, a few new pottery tools, overall stuff that I needed to buy never had the actual time to buy them.

Now, I'm shopping for me. I already passed a few makeup stores, I bought some lipgloss, a lipstick and a few skincare items. I've made my way to the bookstore, I haven't been in ages. Something about the way it smells once you enter brings me so much joy and happiness, a sense of comfort. It's silly honestly, a book bringing you comfort? But it's true, me reading it's like an escape out of reality, I get to be a different person when reading. I experience all their emotions in ink.

I walk down the aisle that is filled with mystery, nothing really caught my eye, but then I walked down the fantasy section and to my own surprise I grabbed a few books and put them in my cream coloured tote bag.

"Do you need help with anything else, ma'am?" A lady who's in uniform asks and I politely decline. "I'm okay, I think I'm just going to ring these up." I smile and sue nods. "Perfect, why don't you come with me." She takes me over the cash register, I hand her my books and the total comes down to $23.31.

I hand her the cash and leave. It's starting to get a bit warmer in February now, only causing me to wear a zip-up over my clothes.

I walk down the florist shop, Flowers & Co has to be one of my favourites, they sell the most beautiful flowers I know. I stare at the shop, looking at the inside from the large glass panel with the writing Flowers & Co written neatly in cursive, with pretty pink flowers surrounding it. I see one of the workers I'm familiar with motion me to come inside, I decline with shaking my head but he insists I come in. So I do.

I open the door and the bell above it rings, Casey, the worker I know starts to smile when he sees me. "I haven't seen you in forever!" Casey says and I laugh, "It wasn't that long, I came here like 3 months ago?" I try and jog my memory but he clicks his tongue. "Still, forever."

I smile, there's a small pause before he speaks. "Tell me, anything new in life." He asks and I think back, "Well, I'm recording for this artist just back vocals, and uh, Rowan came back but quickly left to the Bronx, so that's that. My business is much better than the last time I saw you, really picked up after you added that ad all over town, so thank you." I say and he smiles, "It was nothing." He brushes it off.

"But that's about it, what about you? How's your boyfriend?" I ask and he starts to smile, "Well, he finally proposed." He says all giggly and I gasp in shock, "No way. He did?" My tone coming off in a higher pitch. He bites his lip nodding, trying to hold back a smile. "Let me see the ring!" I ask in excitement and he brings out his tanned hand, revealing a beautiful but simple silver ring. "Oh that's lovely. I'm happy Landon finally got the balls to propose." I chuckle as I glide my finger tips along the ring.
