Valentine Fitz

*2 weeks later *

For the past two weeks, Asher and I have been meeting in the studio to finally record my new song. It took me ages to write but I am so happy with the way it turned out. Asher called me into the studio today because he told me he finally finished with the background music and the finishing touches. In other words, the song is officially done.

I open the door to the studio, greeted with a middle aged blonde woman at the reception. "Valentine?" She confirms who I am, I nod with a smile. "Asher is waiting for you in room 5." She informs, "Okay, thank you."

I make my way to studio room 5, opening the door to see Asher with his headphones on, his back facing me as he works on something on the computer. I make myself known by knocking on the door, he turns around taking his headphones off as he does so. "Valentine, perfect timing, just finished with the instrumental." He says proudly with a smile.

I take a seat on the couch. "Can I hear it all together?" I ask, he nods. "It's all ready." He hands me a pair of black headphones, once they're on he presses play on the track.

At first there was soft instrumental, it was everything I wanted. Once my voice starts to play, I gasp. The melody, the sound. It was hard to believe that it was my voice singing this song. Not because of auto tune, because of how surreal this all feels. All I ever wanted as a kid was to sing, or at least have a song made by me, and it's finally here.

Everything sounds exactly as I wanted and more. The song ends and I look at Asher in shock, with a huge smile on my face.

"Asher." I say in disbelief, "Valentine." He repeats in the same tone. "It's fucking perfect." I laugh while taking the headphones off.

"I knew you'd like it." He grins as he leans against his office chair, resting his hands on the back of his head. "I'm in love with it." I tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear, wetting my bottom lip. "When can I perform it?" I ask eagerly. He spins around in his chair, typing on his computer. " I booked you a gig at a bar, it's always full so you don't have to worry about people not showing up." He explains and my excitement grows from there. "I talked to Jeff and he told me some great places to promote your work," He clicks a few things on his computer before he turns back to me.

"It's called The Stone, like I said, it's always busy so your music will definitely get heard." He assured me, I nod understanding. "What time is it at?" I ask, "6:30, so in about 2 hours and 30 minutes." He answers whilst looking at the clock. "There's a guy named Ivan, look for him and he should tell you what to do to set up."

I pick at my skin, suddenly becoming nervous all of a sudden my head falls down to my lap as I take a big exhale to calm my nerves. "Valentine, you're going to do amazing." Asher's tone is calming, he puts his hand on my shoulder in a comforting manner. "Everyone already is in love with your voice from Harry's song. I keep seeing comments about how they're waiting for a song from you." He assured me.

"Thank you. I'm excited, just there's always a wave of nerves." I explain, "That's good, means you're most likely not to mess up." I smile, "Hopefully."

"Do you want me to send you the file for your song?" He asks and I nod, "Yes, that would be great."

"Perfect, I'll send it to you, you can go home and prepare for your gig today." He instructs me, I nod. "Yeah." I breathe out, getting up from the couch. "Call me when you get out, I wanna know everything." Asher yells when I make my way to the door. I laugh, "I will, thank you for everything."
