Monique Pov
After spending that exhausting week in the hospital going to therapy for my legs I finally was released. I am now just chilling in my room watching some tv. I hear a knock. I head downstairs and open the door to see my bestie on the other side.
"Hey Mina" I step aside to let her in.
"Hey gurl."
We go upstairs to my room and sit on my bed. Of course after she took her shoes off.
"So what brings you to my abode?"
"I can't just hang with my gurl?"
"I mean you can it's just that I feel like you want to get something off your chest, so spill it."
"It's nothing really."
"Ugh. You know I hate not knowing things come on tell me."
"Well it's just my mom. She just hasn't been the same since my Grama passed. she--"
"Wait, your grandmother passed?"
"Yea"
"When? Where was I?"
"A little over a month ago, but you were in a coma so you couldn't have known."
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry."
"No, don't be. it's okay. I mean we all knew it would happen. I just didn't think it would be so soon."
"No, it's not okay. I knew how much your grandmother meant to you. I'm also sorry I wasn't there for you. You always put up with me and my problems and I'm hardly there for you. I'm a horrible friend."
"No, you're a great friend. Yea, you may have problems but who doesn't. It's the fact that you overcome your problems that actually helps me. You show me that if you can, I can too. Gurl, you got shot, went into a coma for a month and still living to tell me about it. You're a fighter."
She put her arm around me swaying and then continued.
"We like Marley and Mike,"
"What"
"When you fight, I fight" she pointed between us.
"What"
"You black as hell, I'm bright."
I laugh while saying "What"
"And I can ride your bike"
"Hell, no nigga."
"I ain't mean to say that"
We just fell back on my bed struggling to breathe cause we were laughing so much. When we finally caught our breathe, we let out a long sigh.
"Mina, I got a question?" I asked like the guy on vine.
"What?"
"Why don't we have our own tv show?"
"I have no idea. We funny as hell."
"Yaasss. So, what you wanna do now?"
"I don't know, we should go out somewhere."
"True, but where? Hmmm..."
We sat in silence trying to think of a place to spend countless hours in.
"I can't think of nothing, let's just go to Nate's house."
"Nah, cuz all y'all gonna be doing is boo loving, and I don't want to be third wheeling."
"Ared, I promise I won't be boo loving with Nate while you're there. We'll all just hang out like the best friends we all are."
"Aight, I'm cool with it. you gone call him and tell him we're coming over?"
