Keefe crashed back through the void, a familiar feeling of disappointment filling his mind. He knew it was a long shot, but he had to try anyway. He was sick of his mum always being 10 steps ahead. He let out a long sigh before letting his eyes roam over the Havenfield pastures, stopping at the Panakes tree, its pink, purple and blue tendrils of flowers swaying in the wind.

Under the tree was a beautiful blond girl in a red, silky dress, leaning against the braided bark with her eyes closed. All of a sudden she opened her stunning brown, gold flecked eyes that he could never seem to stop thinking about and she jumped to her feet, rubbing her temples.

Silveny gently landed, her four hooves once again coming into contact with the ground. Keefe slowly dismounted,  rubbing her velvety nose, thanking her for trying. He turned away from the glittering horse, hesitating, but then slowly began walking across the pasture to the small cliff overlooking the ocean. "Is everything okay?" Keefe asked Sophie as she saw him approaching. She nodded, having that cute look she always got when she was worried. "Yeah, I was just... waiting for you - and I was starting to think you weren't coming back."

Keefe fidgeted with his cape, feeling guilty for how long he must have kept her waiting. "Sorry. I wanted to see what would happen if I had Silveny fly me around in the void while I talked in my mum's voice. I thought maybe if I managed to say at least a couple of the right words while I was in there, whatever she hid would come crashing towards me." "Did it work?" Sophie asked with a hopeful look in her eyes. Keefe couldn't stand letting her down again but he responded with the truth anyway. "Not particularly. And in case you were wondering, the void never gets any more exciting. It's just darkness and more darkness - and oh, hey, even more darkness! I'm sure Tammy Boy would love it, but man, I'm glad to see colour again." He said, hiding his disappointment behind a small joke.

Foster was dealing with enough right now. She didn't need him added to her struggles. His eyes looked over her, coming to rest on the laced, crimson tunic she had chosen to wear. Keefe wondered what that was about, because in all the time he had known Foster, she would never wear anything like that voluntarily. He realised he was staring, so he quickly looked away before she saw him.
