Can I help you?

Anni finally arrived back at her room. Her head was spinning and for once she actually felt sick. She'd been used to the hyper speed and focus her powers always had for over 15 years now but tonight was different, it was Charli.

Charli had sent her into a tail spin with feelings, not something she usually pays much attention to, but tonight they were all clawing their way out.

She felt like she was losing a battle with herself inside her own mind.

She slumped down on the bed, grabbing her book and trying to focus on anything but the beautiful, gorgeous lass who was literally 70ft away from her in the dining room.

How could I have gone this long without feeling this? Anni thought to herself.

She didn't want to feel this, up until tonight she was quite happy not showing emotions, being her quiet, boring self.

It scared her. She'd never felt even an ounce of this before. Fear was not an emotion Anni knew well. She lost all fear after what she went through as a child, there was nothing left to be afraid of after all the shit she'd seen.

Anni knew she couldn't tell anyone about this, Magnus would absolutely flip, Mark would take the piss and Alwyn would do nothing but worry about her. She had to pretend everything was fine. That she wasn't freaking out inside her own head about Charli.

She was used to keeping things to herself but for the first time ever she kind of wished she had someone to talk to about this kinda stuff.

Ever since that girl had wrapped her long tanned legs around Anni's bare waist a couple hours ago her skin had been burning, not painful burning like the burns she received as a child but a tingling sensation that made her shiver if she focused too hard on it.

The feeling made her stomach flip over, and her mind would wander to the what if's.

What if she went to find Charli?

What if Charli wrapped her legs around her again?

Some more what ifs that Anni wasn't quite prepared to think about properly as she'd never done any of that before.

Concentration was becoming more and more difficult, Anni was restless, at least on the rig Magnus never watched her every move, she couldn't escape there, so he tended to leave her be but once they were back on the beach, the dad button got pushed to full throttle and Anni became the sole focus of his life.

I mean, she was his sole focus, the only family he had left, that's why she'd never run from it. He knew her story, she never felt like she had to lie blatantly to him or spare his feelings, until tonight.

This, this she could never tell him. She didn't think she could even tell Alwyn, and she told him most things.

Like Anni knew Alwyn knew she was gay, she knew he wouldn't tell Magnus because while Magnus wasn't homophobic at all, he was phobic of his daughter, for intents and purposes, being with anyone. It was just something Anni had always kept to herself.

I mean she didn't even know if she was gay, she'd never been attracted to anyone until tonight, and the whole no touching thing can really put a damper on a relationship, especially in the physical sense, so at 24 years old she'd never so much as kissed anyone.

At this point in her life, why would anyone even consider her as someone to be with.

An ex-crew member had once called her unlovable. She had agreed, as she definitely thought that once or twice in her life but Magnus overheard the whole thing and threatened to throw him over the rails.
