Avatar: The Rise of Aten

Chapter 0.2 The source of life

That’s when Aten was amazed by the beauty of an enormous lion turtle. This precious being was the size of an island and was covered with trees, vines, bushes and even little aquifers and ponds. The Lion Turtle was living the image of life on its purest form, all those life forms on its back complimented its liveness and beauty.

Aten was snapped out of this exhilaration and amusement by a deep earthshaking voice.
“So, the boy has come at once at my presence”

“Was that him?”- Aten asked Rehema which he nodded slowly. Aten slowly made his way to The Lion Turtle, he curiously thought what really is this being and what was their purpose in their world, their only world.

The Lion Turtle spoke softly to the child at his mercy- “Aten, son of Cleope and Aman, brother of the twin Aton, what is your purpose in this life, what do you dream to come and be, how do you see yourself come to be?”

“How do I see myself?”-Aten whispered to himself. He took a few minutes of reflexion before answering what he was asked.

Aten took a deep breath and told The Lion Turtle- “I am a child of my nation and defender of all life. I am a warrior, but also a peace maker.” The Lion Turtle looked at Aten directly at his eyes and resounded its deep voice- “Very well young one, protector of your people and nature I shall gift you with the gift of bending life itself, energy bending.” Aten nodded sure of himself as he prepared to receive The Lion Turtle’s gift.

The Enormous being lifted their gigantic left paw and poked with his claws the future protector’s heart and forehead. In that moment light became clear in Aten’s soul, he became able to feel every living being connected to each other, he felt every breath, heartbeat, emotion, and every wish within all beings he has and even hasn’t seen.

Aten once blessed with his bending the excitement and curiosity to try this new gift won over his self-control and tried energy bending for his ever first time. He moved his arms around him swiftly, with open hands and he began energy bending. Beautiful streams of light surrounded the young boy as he swayed his arms as to command the direction of the streams of light. Once he calmed his excitement he breathed deeply and extended downwards his arms, as all that light dispersed into the environment. 

The Lion Turtle smiled in recognition to Aten’s lively spirit- “Very well child of life, I entrust you to use this gift for the wellbeing of other beings, use it responsibly” Aten nodded accepting these terms- “I won’t fail you Mr. Lion Turtle!” “I can tell you won’t young one”- The Lion Turtle replied.

Aten honored by its words bowed in respect and gratitude. “Very well Aten, shall we now retire to the next room?” -Rehema gently suggested. “One moment master I want to do something first.”- Aten said heading towards The Lion Turtle. “Ummm, Mr. Lion Turtle will we ever meet again after this?”- The small boy asked the being. “Of course, young one, I will always be here for you when you need me.” -The Lion turtle swiftly growled. The kid went in and hugged The Lions Turtle enormous finger. “There, there now don’t you have a big day ahead of you my little boy?” The Lion turtle said nodding towards Master Rehema.

Aten headed back to master Rehema. “I’m ready master, let’s go.”-Aten directed Rehema. “Let us young bender”- Rehema replied. Both headed towards a wall of vines and stone that had three energy seals. “Um master this is wall…” Aten said confused. “a wall may it be to the ones who can’t guide the life force, my young pupil”- Rehema guided.

Aten understood the task at hand. Aten energy bended three energy streams that entered each of the energy seals to open the door before them. Once the seals were removed, the vines pulled the hard rock wall apart creating an opening to were Aten’s parents, his brother and a whole line of new energy benders awaited him.
