A few Sabzeruz Festivals went by without Alhaitham deviating too much from the original. He woke up, did his morning routine, apologized to Kaveh, and then they went off to enjoy the festival, hand in hand.
It was hard to deny Kaveh the right to go, even knowing what would occur, especially when he smiled so very brightly and his eyes lit up at every wonder, day after day.
However, even despite all the happiness it brought his roommate, Kaveh was beginning to grate on him. Granted, it wasn't the usual way, Alhaitham's patience was still beginning to wear thin. Every little touch Kaveh gave him, every cheeky comment, and every time he'd (Archons above) make little passes at him like Alhaitham didn't notice, it drove his junior a little more insane.
Alhaitham wanted to touch him.
It was even more irritating that Kaveh didn't even realize this. Every day, his consciousness would seemingly reset, unable to recall the 'day' before. He didn't even realize how bad he was leading him on.
Currently, they were having lunch again. Alhaitham had managed to hold out his discomfort with the crowd until Kaveh had gone around to each stall, getting his fortune read (The sun, of course), guessing which box some candies would be under (Alhaitham was beginning to look forward to that one), and then finally deciding on some actual food.
Kaveh seemed to take extreme delight in taking a piece of one of the fruits himself, sampling it, and then taking another piece to raise to Alhaitham's lips when he deemed it satisfactory.
"Is it good?" The blonde asked. His eyes were wide, full of that sweet optimism Alhaitham was growing to adore more and more with each passing day. It suited him so well.
Alhaitham nodded, swallowing down the piece of Sunsettia he'd been given. "Of course," He replied. "I'm sure each of these recipes has been passed down from festival to festival. There's no excuse for error when it comes to tradition."
Kaveh nodded a few times in quick succession. "Yeah, that's what makes festival food so good! It's really a shame we don't have more..."
Alhaitham bit his tongue. He could go on about the intricacies of how the Akademiya would never allow more festivals and is already denying this one, citing frivolous nature that would never be anything close to the Akademiya standards. He could, but he refrained.
Instead, Alhaitham allowed his eyes to drift upwards as if he were in thought. "That would be nice, wouldn't it?"
"Mhm!" Kaveh placed his hand over Alhaitham's, forcing his gaze back down to his senior. Tempting.
"We could have one for each season or—" Kaveh continued along as if he hadn't noticed Alhaitham's dilemma at all. "Or we could have one for exam season! That would be so great. Everyone would be so relieved to be over and it'd be so fun right after—"
"Kaveh?" Alhaitham cut him off. After just a few days, he'd begun to recognize when things were about to happen and it just so happened that he recalled one so-called Grand Sage's appearance would occur right about now.
He refused to let that bastard ruin Kaveh's fun and besides, he so desperately needed to touch him. Whether he kissed him, fucked him, or whatever, Alhaitham just needed something.
Kaveh stopped and stared at him. "Yeah?"
Alhaitham stood, taking a napkin from the table and dabbing it at his mouth. "Let's go somewhere private. I need to tell you something."
It was a fast excuse, one that had Kaveh furrowing his brow in confusion, but thankfully not disagreement. "Oh—" He pushed himself up from the table. "Sure."
