Dear Ellie (A Steve Randle Love Story)

Chapter 3

I woke up the next morning and I was so tired. I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to get ready as I turned the corner rubbing my eyes awake and I ran straight into Steve.

“Well good morning to you too.” Steve said while laughing.

“Sorry” I said while still rubbing my eyes awake.

“It’s okay sleepy head, Darry says breakfast will be ready in 10” he replied with a warm comforting smile.

I went into the bathroom and got ready really fast and then headed to the kitchen for breakfast. Darry handed me a plate of eggs and told me goodmorning.

“Why isn't Pony awake yet?” I asked in a confused voice.

“Oh yeah I forgot to tell you Ellie, school got canceled today.” Darry replied while making more plates of eggs for Steve and Soda.

“WHAT!!” I said in not a yelling but loud voice.

“School is canceled and you didn’t let me sleep in?” I said in a mad voice.

“Well when Pony wakes up he is going out with Johnny and I didn’t think you wanted to be left home alone, so you’re going to work with Soda and Steve.” Darry said in a kind of sorry voice.

“I guess that is better than staying at home” I replied while eating my eggs.

After everyone was ready to go we all got in Darry’s truck and I sat in the back with Steve. I laid my head against the window and Steve asked if I was ok. I told him I just had a headache.

We arrived at the DX and we all got out of the truck and said goodbye to Darry. Soda headed to the back and me and Steve went behind the counter. 

The morning was slow, so Steve decided to head to the back with Soda. I was behind the counter filing my nails when a guy around 18 walks in and starts flirting with me. I kinda gave a tone of voice that I wasn't interested but the guy didn’t take a hint. So after a while I told him that I had a boyfriend, which was a lie.

“He won't have to know” the guy replied while pushing me against the wall and pining me.

“Get off me” I tell him but he doesn't listen. The guy starts kissing me and I try to push him off but can't . I yell for Steve and Soda, but the guy quickly covers my mouth and tells me to shut up.

Then all of the sudden Steve comes busting through the door and grabs the guy by his shirt and shoves him to the ground. Soda comes in and pins the guy to the ground and punches him a few times not hurting him too bad but still hurting him. 

 I slid down the wall and tears are pouring down my face. Steve comes over and wraps his arms around me and then helps me up off the ground as Soda throws the guy out.

“It’s ok El, he's gone” Steve said while still holding me in a hug. Soda then comes over and starts hugging me too.

“Are you ok Ellie, what did he do to you?” Soda said in a worried voice.

“I’m ok now he just kept kissing me and I couldn’t make him stop.” I said to both of them.

Steve looked at me and I could see tears starting to form in his eyes. 

“It’s ok now Ellie, it’s ok”.
