Chapter 7

Percy's pov:

Y/n and I looked at each other confused. "Percy Jackson, show yourself!!!" Hades roared. What does Hades want with me? "Give me the bolt and I'll return your mother." My eyes went wide. I went to step forward when Y/n tried to pull me back shaking her head. "It'll be okay." I told her as she let go and I stepped towards the God of the Underworld. "My mother's gone!!" I yelled. "No." He replied. "She's here with me. In the Underworld." He held out his hand as flames appeared as a picture. It was my mother. "Percy." She whispered. Hades took his hand and swatted the flames away. "Give me my mother!!" I yelled at him. "Bring me the bolt and you'll get your mother." He said as he disappeared into the flames. I walked towards Chiron. "We have to go get her." "We will but first we must go to Olympus and talk with Zues." Chiron replied.

"Get a good night's sleep. You'll need." Chiron walked away after that. I looked at Y/n. "What do I do?" I asked. She did something unexpected. She wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me. I was caught off by suprise. I hugged her back as I felt butterflies in my stomach. "I'll do whatever I can to help." She said. "Thank you, Y/n." I replied. We pulled away from the hug. I felt warm with her, I wanted to stay there forever. "Meet me back here at midnight." She said. I looked at her confused. "We're going to go get your mother back." She finished. I smiled at her as I gave her one more hug. "I'll meet you at midnight then." I said, pulling away from the hug and walking towards my cabin.

Y/n's pov:

I started to walk away, towards my cabin. I smiled to myself as I was walking. I can't believe that just happened! I started packing things into my backpack. Things like a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, money, a spare jacket, some spare clothes, all the nessecities. I looked at the clock on my bedside table as it was about 10 minutes until midnight. I grabbed my backpack and made sure I had my necklace on as well.

I walked out of my cabin and I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I jumped as I turned around, my heart beating out of my chest. The person who touched me was Annabeth. "Annabeth? What are you doing?" I asked as I tried to regain my breathing. "I wanna go." She said. "Go where?" I replied. "You know what I'm talking about. I wanna go with you and Percy." She said. "I don't know." I said as she looked at me. "Y/n, I've always wanted to go on a quest. I've been here for years and I want to see the world." I felt bad for her. "Fine, you can come." I gave in. "Plus, I've been properly trained for something like this." She said with a smile. I smiled back at her. "Something tells me we're gonna get along." We smiled and laughed at each other as we walked where Percy and I agreed to meet.

Percy's pov:

I was walking out of my cabin with a bag packed with things I'd need. "Where are you going?" Grover said from the side. "On a walk." I replied. "Cool. I'm coming with." He said. "No you can stay here." I told him, trying not to have him follow me. "I'm your protector. And as your protector I am instructed to follow you." Grover said as he started walking with me. "Don't follow me, Grover. I'll be okay." I said. "You're being followed." He said with a small smile and laugh. "Annabeth is going to want to tag along as well." He continued, "I'm sure she's already with Y/n as we speak." He finished.

We get to where I was suppose to meet Y/n and Grover was right. Annabeth was with her and looked as if she was ready to leave. "Not you too." I said. "Oh, double team." Grover said. "He wouldn't take no for an answer either would he?" Y/n asked. I shook my head side to side. "Nope." I answered. "You guys can come along, too." I said. "We need to get to the underworld." Y/n said. "So, how do we do that?" Grover asked. "I know someone who might be able to help." Annabeth said.

Y/n's pov:

Grover, Percy, and I all followed Annabeth as she led us towards the Hermes cabin. We walked in and saw all kinds of modern things we use in the world in present time. Luke was sitting in a chair playing a video game. "Luke." Annabeth said to get his attention. He turned around and smiled. "Hey guys. Percy, Y/n, I figured you'd both stop by at some point." He said as he looked at both Percy and I. What was strange was he held his gaze on me a little longer. I felt a little uncomfortable. I think Percy saw this as he stepped at little bit closer to me.

"What can I do for you?" He asked us all. "Your father is Hermes, messenger of the Gods, the only one who's ever been able to get in and out of the underworld. Do you have any idea how?" Annabeth asked. "No, I never really seen him." Luke replied. "You too, huh?" Percy asked. I understood the feeling of not seeing your other parent. "Guess we all got parent issues." Luke shrugged. "But I did break into his house once. Found some cool stuff." He said. Luke walked towards a shelf and grabbed something. He came back with a shoe box. He gave the box to Percy. Percy opened the box and a shoe flew out of the box?

"Woah." I said. Luke grabbed the shoe before it flew away. "There's a map under the other shoe." Luke said as he nodded towards the box. Percy got the map and put the shoes back in the box. He closed it and gave it to Grover to hold. He opened the map. At first there wasn't anything on the paper. Then words started to appear. "There are pearls you need to find. They will help you get out of the underworld. This map will tell you the location of one pearl at a time. Find the first then the next and so on." Luke explained. "This first location is where you can find the first pearl." He pointed to the words as they started to appear.

"The thing is, there are only 4 pearls. That means there 2 pearls in one location but the rest are sepearate." He continued to explain. He then had a look on his face as if he had forgot something. "Oh and one more thing." He walked away for a minute and came back with a golden shield. "My favorite shield. Go ahead." He told Percy as he gave him the shield. Percy grabbed the shield and let it open. "Thanks Luke." Percy said as he tapped Luke on the shoulder. "It's nothing." He replied. "Could you do me a favor?" Luke asked. "Yeah." Percy replied. "If you see my old man on the highway to hell, kick his ass for me." He said with a smile. Percy replied with nodding his head yeah. We all started to walk out as Luke called for me. "Wait, Y/n." He said. I turned around and looked at him. "Yeah?" I said. "Come back in one peice." Luke said as he pushed my hair away from my face and leaned in to kiss my cheek. My face went red and I hoped no one saw that. I walked out like nothing ever happened. Little did I know that everyone saw.

Percy's pov:

He kissed her!? He doesn't get to kiss her! She's mine. What am I saying? She doesn't know how I feel about her. I felt a bit sad after I saw that. She looked as if she didn't like it though. Like it made her uncomfortable. If he ever goes near her, he'll regret it. We all walked towards the camp entrance and snuck out. On our way to the underworld. What's the worst that could happen?
