"So awfully good, looks very much like the gypsy girl. I know, you helped her escape!" Frollo yelled the last few words. "And now all Paris is burning because of you!"
Y/n was so close to just jumping from under the table and punching the old guy. How could he say something like that?!
"She was kind to me master." Quasi whispered, laying on the floor in fear and backing away.
"You idiot! That wasn't kindness it was cunning, she's a gypsy! Gypsies aren't capable of real love!" as Frollo said that he was holding the collar of Quasi shirt, yelling all that into the bellringer's face. All those words made Y/n hate that guy even more.
"Think boy, think of your mother!
But what chance could have a poor misshapen child like you have against her heathen treatery ?" Frollo then burned the wooden figurine of Esmeralda and assured Quasimodo that she will no longer torment him. He confusedly asked what that meant. Frollo answered by saying he knows where her hideout is and that he'll attack with thousand men in the tomorrow dawn, with that he left. Y/n and Phoebus's eyes went wide. They can't let this happen!

After they could hear the door Frollo went through close, both Y/n and Phoebus got up from under the table.
"We have to find the Court of Miracles before day break. If Frollo gets there first.. are you coming with us?" Phoebus asked.
"I can't." was all Quasimodo could say.
"Thought you're Esmeralda's friend."
"Frollo's my master I can't disobey him again!"
"She stood up for you and I kinda did too. Well you've got a funny way of showing her gratitude." Y/n said trying to join the dialogue.
"Well we're not going to sit by and watch Frollo massacre innocent people. You do what you think is right." Phoebus said and left with Y/n holding his hand. Y/n didn't know if they should say anything else, so they gave Quasi a sad look.

"How do you wanna go to the Court of Miracles ?" they asked him while walking through the quiet cathedral.
"I'll just find the way to get there. I know this city and it can't be that far."
"Oh really? Just like it wasn't that hard to find the Palace of Justice?" they said with a bit of sarcasm. "I'm sorry I probably shouldn't have said that."
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure we'll find the way. You know how to get around here, don't you?"
"Maybe, I know only the streets near my house or streets I randomly found, but I wasn't ever so lucky to find the Court of Miracles."
As they were leaving the Notre Dame, a surprise was coming their way.

"Phoebus, Y/n." a familiar voice said out of nowhere. This made both them jump in fear. The fear disappeared when they noticed it was just Quasimodo. "I'm coming with you." he whispered to them.
"Glad changed your mind." Y/n said.
"You know where she is?" Phoebus asked.
"No, but she said this will help us find her." the bellringer said and handed them a necklace he got from her.
"Good good great, what is it." Phoebus said while looking at the dangler."
"I'm not sure." Quasi shrugged.
"I think it's a puzzle or something." Y/n said, looking at it over Phoebus's shoulder.
"Yeah, maybe it's some sort of code. Maybe it's arabic. No, no it's not arabic. Maybe it's ancient Greek!"
"Maybe it is, but what could it say?" Y/n asked as they were analyzing it with Phoebus.
"When you wear this woven band, you hold the city in your hand." Quasi said.
"What ?" both Phoebus and Y/n said.
"It's the city!"
"What are you talking about?"
"It's a map, see? Here's the cathedral and the river and and this little-" Y/n felt like Quasi is right and that this necklace was like a pocket map.
"I've never seen a map that looks like that." Phoebus said in disagreement. Soon the two of them started arguing and Y/n stepped in.
"Listen, if you wanna find Esmeralda today we all have to work together. If he says it's a map, we can try to look at it like at a map!"
"Fine, it's a map." Phoebus said angrily. "Truce?" he said and pat Quasi's back.
"Well okay." Quasimodo said and gave him a much stronger pat.
Y/n just gave a worried look as if they were asking Phoebus if he's alright. His answer was a nod. The three went to where the map told them. Y/n held Phoebus's arm on the side where his wound was. They were so much in love with him it felt crazy.

They came to a cemetery and found a tombstone that had the same symbol as the one beed on the woven band. Phoebus and Y/n try to translate the words written on it, while Quasi tries to move the stone desk covering the grave. He finds stairs underneath that lead down under the city. And so the three of them go down those stairs. As they walk, Y/n can feel Phoebus holding their hand tighter, giving it a light squeeze and intertwining his fingers with theirs. This small thing is enough for them to feel a bit safer by his side.

"So This is the Court of Miracles?" Quasi asks when they get to the sewers.
"I'd say it's the court of ankle-deep sewage. Must be the old catacombs." Phoebus says back.
"Great place for a stroll." Y/n mutters.
As they all walk further, there's nothing but piles of bones and skeletons as far as the eye could see.

"Cheerful place." Phoebus's words break the silence surrounding the three.
"Yeah really cheerful." Y/n says while looking around, unsure wether the skeletons scare them fascinate them. You usually don't get to see something like this.
Phoebus just chuckled. "Kinda makes you wish you got out more often, hey Quasi?"
"Not me." The bellringer said, "I just want to warn Esmeralda and get back to the bell tower, before I get into anymore trouble."
While walking further into the catacombs, Y/n thought they could see a movement in the corner of the eye, but that was surely just their brain playing tricks on them, right? There's no way any of those skeletons could move even if they wanted to. Or is there?
