Ch.9 Back to Square One

Lee's POV

"Now it's time for an open forum!" Pepper announced excitedly. I'm feeling a bit cold but I can still manage since we are sitting in front of the bonfire.

"Crying is not allowed" Pheb added and it made everyone laugh. I haven't experienced an open forum before so I'm quite nervous about the questions. I've seen some in the movies and most of the characters are becoming emotional when it's their turn to speak or answer.

"I will ask questions and everyone has to answer. It has a twist though. If you do not think that you can answer it, then you'll have to do a dare" Pepper explained.

"Then it's not an open forum, this should be called Truth or Dare" Hera corrected her but she pretended like she didn't hear it.

Everyone seems to be excited about it. I sighed in annoyance when I noticed the hotdog and marshmallow that I'm grilling is already almost burnt.

"Alright, my first question is what are your first impressions of us SC students and vice versa" Pepper started.

Andy was the first one to answer and it's too showbiz. He likes to be on the safe side, but I cannot blame him because he is in our territory.

"I thought all of you were lesbians," Alex replied honestly when his turn came.

"I thought the same too, but I guess Lee is straight" Mitchell seconded.

My eyes widened upon hearing what they said but I decided to not comment on it because I don't feel the need to correct Mitchell. I feel like it will only be hard to explain detailed things to them.

"Actually-" Pepper was about to explain when Karla nudged her right arm to shut her up.

I glanced in Hera's direction to see her reaction but her expression was blank. She's probably thinking the same thing but I don't know why I felt a bit upset about it.

Could it be that I want her to think that I am a lesbian? I immediately shook my head to erase the thought. This is not the time to be thinking about it.

"Seriously guys? Just because they study in an all-girls school it doesn't mean that all of them are into girls" Andy rebuked them. He glanced at me afterwards, as if he knew what I was thinking.

"Sorry" Alex and Mitchell apologized in unison.

"What about you Hera?" Pepper called her attention with a meaningful grin on her face.

"Huh?" was all she said.

She's out of focus, I wonder what she's thinking.

"What is your first impression of the SC members?" Pepper repeated excitedly.

"Hmm, you are a jerk. The rest are fine" everyone laughed at what she said. She apologized afterwards and even moved closer to tap Pepper's shoulder.

I'm surprised because I didn't know that they were that close already. They hated each other the first time they met. It's a good thing though, at least she has the SC president as her friend.

I felt a bit sad that she generalized her impression of all of us. I was expecting a longer explanation, but who am I to expect after what I've done to her these past few weeks.

"That's it? What about your first impression of Lee?" I flinched when I heard my name. "I remember that she's the first one that you noticed on your first day in St. Bernadette"

I smiled because they almost fought that day because Hera thought that I am the SC President. I pretended that I was not interested in listening so she would not feel awkward while answering.
