Hera's POV
Lee decided to take a break for three days after what happened. Her parents picked her up from school and I was so worried so I went to ask Pepper. She knows what's going on for sure.
"Yo! What's up?" she greeted me with her usual ecstatic tone.
Their professor hasn't arrived yet so the people in her class are in chaos. There's even one student that's playing guitar and there's Pheb that's doing a ridiculous impersonation of someone, or maybe she's playing charades.
"I'm worried about Lee," I informed her with a concerned expression on my face.
"Don't be. She's doing well and her parents are just overreacting. This is the first time that this has happened" she assured me but I'm still not convinced.
"Are you sure? Can I have her number if you don't mind?" I made a face when she immediately shook her head in objection.
"Of course I do. I am not allowed to just give her number to anyone. I have to ask for her permission first" she explained afterwards.
I'm a bit surprised because she doesn't seem to be the type of person that values privacy. I also feel like she's the type of person that does not like owing something to anyone.
"You owe me. In case you forgot about it" I reminded her. She thought for a moment and I grinned in victory when she finally agreed.
"Tsk. Do not tell her that I gave it to you" she warned me. She then took her phone out of her pocket and then she showed me the number.
"Devil?" I asked confusedly when I saw Lee's name on her phonebook.
"It's a long story" she brushed me off.
I was about to dig deeper when I noticed their professor approaching. I thanked her and then I went to my class as well. I cannot wait to send Lee a message but I feel like it's too early so I waited until lunchtime.
"It's been fifteen minutes," I said impatiently to Andy.
It's already lunch break and we're in the canteen. I already texted Lee with the usual 'Hello' but she hasn't responded yet. I sent another message asking if she was also alright after that.
"Did you tell her that you're Hera?" he asked before taking a bite of his sandwich.
"No," I said sadly. "I feel like she will not reply to me if I told her that it's me"
"What's the difference now? You're still on read" he quipped.
"You're right, I'll do that" I released a heavy sigh before texting Lee again.
Another fifteen minutes passed by and there was still no reply so I asked Andy to try to dial her number. It rang three times before the call was rejected.
"Try to call her too," he told me.
I did and I cursed because she blocked my number. "Ugh! F*ck!"
"She's making it hard for me!" I slammed the table in anger afterwards. I'm starting to lose my patience with her. I am worried about her but she treats me like I'm such a bother.
"Don't disrespect your food" Andy rebuked me.
"Pepper already told you that she's okay. Give her space in the meantime. Her blocking you is a clear message to not disturb her" he added when I didn't respond.
"It's so unfair," I complained.
"Life is unfair, Hera. Deal with it" he replied coldly.
I feel like he was not in a good mood so I focused my attention back on my food because I need to finish it soon. I wasted thirty minutes on Lee and it's useless. I don't like it when my time is wasted but I don't have a choice now. I have to endure all these things in order to return to being a man.
