Highway to your Heart || Haechan ||

Donghyuck was fuming after being called up onto the stage when every individual audition was over and the results got revealed because suddenly he was announced to play Haechan, the male lead.

A little under three hours earlier his conversation with Jisung got interrupted when Ten suddenly appeared and they resumed the auditions, him and Taeyong taking the seats of the jury while the youngest kept replaying and evaluating the dance performance of every candidate.

"Okay! Thank you everyone for participating in today's audition and congratulations on getting a role or being chosen as understudies and extras. Those who have passed will be informed about our next meeting when you'll receive your scripts and will be introduced to the songs as well."

Ten clapped and congratulated everyone before letting them walk out avoiding the gaze of the angry younger who was forced into participating trough this announcement.

It would be easy pulling out if his participation hadn't been made official in front of everyone as he would be seen breaking his word after deciding to quit now.

"You!"

"You don't seem very happy about getting the main role." Ten said with a calm expression feigning ignorance about what he had just pulled off, feeling like the decision was completely justified after what Taeyong had told him earlier.

The older still couldn't believe that the boy scowling at him was the male lead of the romantic growing up story he was set on directing, curious just how much of the whole script was based on real life experience.

"Are you really sure I won't sabotage the whole musical because of this stunt you decided to pull?!"

"Look at the bright side though as you get to spend more time with Jisung and catch up, I've heard that the two of you know each other."

The mentioned boy froze and internally thanked whatever deity that had kept Iseul away for this long, not wishing to complicate the things with her appearance as well.

"Umm... it's getting late so I should look for Iseul so we could return back."

"She's with Kun but I don't know if you want to disturb them now as she might be even angrier than this pudu here." Ten said gesturing to the tan huffing male that still stood on the stage.

"Why? What did Kun do to make her angry?"

"Let's just say she was offered another project." The man shrugged and saw Taeyong look at him in disbelief after understanding what was going on.

"You didn't tell her?! She's going to tear Kun to shreds and feed him to cats if he breaks the news to her!" 

Jisung looked nervous watching the two eldest guys argue while Donghyuck lived for the drama and wished he had popcorn to enjoy along with the upcoming fight.

"Iseul is already buried into work with writing individualized scripts for every character, working with us on the songs, coordinating the designers, overseeing and filming the dance practices AND dealing with your lazy ass, yet you really asked her to shoot a music video for one of the songs?"

"You what?! At this rate she'll have to repeat the year!" The youngest exclaimed while the tan boy became even more invested in it, expecting a fight scene soon only to be hit by disappointment.

"She won't, in fact this is all to help her ease her workload."

"How?"

"We talked with her filmography professor and he said he'll accept the music video as her year end project while her videos of the making process of the musical would be turned in as assignments. This way the requirements for both of her majors would be covered and she could focus entirely on this."

Donghyuck snorted at the lame ending of this argument and walked away before Ten could force him to anything more, desperately needing a drink or two to forget everything that happened in the past hour .

Jinung watched the boy walk away and let out a breath he didn't know he was holding until he saw the two pairs of eyes stare at him with a disturbing glint.

"Tell me Jisung, how much of this story is based on real happenings?" Ten broke the silence and saw the way the younger tensed up as if he didn't expect them to find out.

"W-what? No! It's all fiction! Ha-ha...."

"You're a terrible liar. So Haechan is actually Hyuck and assume the character of the female lead  is based on Iseul? Are you in there too?"

"...no?..."

"Ah, the one based on you must be Dohyun, right?" 

The silence and the slight blush on the boy's cheeks answered all their questions and made Ten's smile widen which scared both Jisung and Taeyong as it could mean nothing good.
