The first script reading was done without Iseul as the girl had been busy planning the music video and editing her already acquired footage.
As everyone read the first scene they were to work on and practice along with the first song that the producing trio ended up naming 'Beatbox' even Donghyuck gave his all without feeling weird about the story line.
Jisung's choreography video was sent over to the other actors in that scene to learn in advance so that Ten could make final adjustments once everyone came together to practice.
To say that it was a tense atmosphere would not be an understatement as the SUFAs students didn't like the ones from their rival university and underestimated their skills, acting all high and mighty until the first actual group dance try.
The seven boys who had practiced with Jisung had successfully humbled the other half in a matter of minutes with both their dancing skills and technique, which honestly didn't help the situation either.
It took them about ten joint practice sessions to start warming up and realizing that all of them were in the same boat and only by working together would they successfully be able to get it to sail as well.
Chenle was in the meantime working on the line distribution for the songs with Kun, spending many days holed up in the studio and making adjustments to the melody and the keys.
Renjun and Iseul on the other hand were trapped by piles of papers in their living room looking for the perfect aesthetically pleasing and fitting backgrounds for each scene, working themselves slowly trough every art magazine they could find in their university's library.
"What about choosing four to five pictures that would be made into backdrops for easier changing up?"
"I guess? I mean I don't know anything about building a scene or a background so I don't understand why Ten had me do this?!"
"Hmm... Say, what if we take a blank background and project a video on it for the car ride and the sky, only changing the props to make the surroundings different?" The Chinese asked his best friend who was on the verge of desperation from doing things she wasn't qualified for.
Nodding her head the girl fell back on the plush carpet and closed her eyes, feeling to overwhelmed with the whole thing and hoping the workload would lessen with time.
Surprisingly the dance practices and singing rehearsals proceeded smoothly without Iseul's intervention aside from providing a few cameras to document the making of their project.
She was honestly not interested in the cast at all as she couldn't really imagine other people portraying people whom she knew, aware of the fact that they'd probably not even look similar to the original characters.
While the girl unintentionally avoided visiting the practices at the other university the actors had steadily worked themselves trough scene after scene leaving the male lead scowling as he felt a sense of deja vu throughout the piece.
"Jisung? Hey! Do you feel something off about the script as well?" The tan male asked after approaching the younger during one of their breaks, successfully catching the taller off guard.
"Shit, Hyuck! You scared me! But what do you mean by off?"
"I mean it's very similar to the camp we visited back then, the activities and even this part here where the male and female lead stargaze and talk about their fears."
Donghyuck frowned as he remembered sitting on the small hill behind their huts with Alice one evening, having some deep conversations and opening up to one another.
But then again there was nobody else who knew about that so of course Andy wouldn't remember, but then why is it in this script.
"Hey, do you remember Alice? She was in our group back then, short girl, long brown hair with pink highlights, always hung out with us." The tan guy gestured with his hand around the height of his shoulder and raked his brain for anything more specific regarding the girl.
"Of course I remember her, we were like introverted best friends. Why do you ask?" Jisung questioned the older feeling like he knew where this was going to, actually surprised how long it took the male to connect the dots.
"Nothing, I just got reminded of her thinking about this one scene. Did you remain in touch with her by any chance?"
"Oh, yeah! We exchanged numbers before she left that last day and kept checking up on one another from time to time during the first one-two years."
"And what about now?"
Jisung only shrugged not wanting to reveal that now they rarely text because they see each other every day and feel almost like siblings from how close they became in these past few years.
Donghyuck didn't push the topic assuming that it didn't last and the younger probably grew apart from the girl living on the opposite side of the globe too.
He wondered how she was, what she was doing now and whether she was pursuing her dream to become a book author just like her mother or chose something else.
How come he didn't get her number when they were obviously closer than Andy and her?
He doesn't even remember the last thing they did together as the girl somehow disappeared on him, being already gone by the time he wanted to say goodbye on their last day.
Without realizing it the tan male went down memory lane and tried to recall that summer only a few years earlier, curious about how he managed to lose all means of contact with the person he thought would actually stay.
