Allison had heard so much about Emily's older brother Ethan but had never met him in person. Emily had always talked about him fondly, praising his intelligence and sense of humor. Allison couldn't help but feel a little nervous as they pulled up to his house for dinner.
As they walked through the door, Allison was immediately struck by how warm and welcoming Emily's brother was. He greeted them with a big smile and a firm handshake, and Allison felt her nerves begin to fade away.

As the night went on, Allison began to feel more and more comfortable around him. She even found herself laughing at his jokes, which she had initially been too nervous to do.
When it was time to leave, Allison realized that she didn't want the night to end. As they said their goodbyes, Emily's brother surprised her by pulling her aside and telling her how happy he was that she had come.
Allison left feeling grateful for the opportunity to meet Emily's brother and excited to get to know him better in the future. She had been nervous about making a good impression, but in the end, she realized that all it took was being herself.
