Neteyam's POV:

It was Sunday. Aonung had dropped me off on Saturday morning. I felt like I was going crazy. Lo'ak was spending the weekend with Tsireya, Kiri was out of town for a wildlife exploration trip, and Tuk was definitely not going out to a party to get absolutely shit faced with me.

I knew it was Sunday, and if I went to school on Monday, probably every teacher would be able to see that I was hungover, but honestly, I couldn't care less. I wanted to do something, and one of those things was get absolutely drunk. Aonung was always the outgoing one who drank and vaped. I'm pretty sure he's even done drugs one time.

I've never been drunk. It's not that I'm a goody-two-shoes. I've just never had the time to. Or I didn't want to set a bad example for Lo'ak and Tuk.

I paced around my room, thinking of what to do. I know I should probably wait for next Saturday to do this, but there's a party going on down the street and practically all of my school is invited.

I didn't want to go alone, because this will have been the first actual party I've been to. I've been to plenty of parties before. Some I've even drank at, but this party was the center of everyone's attention. All the popular kids are hosting it, so they expect you to be absolutely wasted. I'd look like such a loser in front of them if I went alone.

In the end, I decided to call Aonung. Surely he'd help me come up with something. I picked up my phone, finding his contact and quickly ringing him. I sat down on the end of my bed, nervously waiting for him to pick up

"Hey, what's up?" I heard from the other end

"Aonung! Hi" I replied, relieved that he picked up.

"Hi. Why'd you call?" He asked again, confused

"Oh, I was just wondering if you were doing anything"

"Nothing, why?"

"Could you come over?"

"Right now?" He seemed surprised

"Yeah. If you're free?" I replied, not wanting to be a bother

"I mean sure. I'll be over in 10" He said

"Great. See you soon" I replied, a wide smile on my face

"Later" He told me before hanging up.

That 10 minutes was probably the longest 10 minutes of my entire life. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was only 8 minutes, but it felt like 8 hours waiting for him. When I heard a pounding on my front door, I knew it could only be one person. Aonung. I got off my bed, walking down stairs. I was halfway down the steps when I saw my mom standing at the front door, talking to Aonung. He spotted me and waved. I waved back, continuing down the stairs and standing beside my mom.

"Ma, it's fine. I invited him" I said, resting my hand on her shoulder. She looked over at me and back at Aonung.

"You boys heard about that party down the road?" My mother questioned, folding her arms and glaring at the both of us.

I noticed Aonung gulping. I let out a small chuckle seeing him so scared of my mom.

"Yeah, but don't worry ma, we're not going" I reassured her

She nodded in understanding and began to walk away

Aonung quickly took his shoes off and followed me up stairs to my bedroom. Once we were both in the room, Aonung let out a deep breath he had been holding all the way up stairs. I laughed at him, sitting down on my bed

"Dude, your mom scares the living shit out of me" He confessed, putting a hand over his chest and leaning against the door.

"Stop lying" I replied, patting the space next to me for him to sit down
