"We're here," Volkov tells a now sleeping Cassie.
He gently tries waking her up but it doesn't work. He notices Magnus pull up so he gets out of his car. Magnus walks over.
"Hey Volkov, what are you doing here?" Magnus asks.

"Mafia shit, your girlfriends asleep in my car. Can you get her out?" Volkov asks walking around to the passenger side, "boss didn't need her so I had to bring her home, can you believe? What a waste of my time."
Magnus chuckles, "And yet, you survived."

Volkov opens the door and Magnus gets Cass out.
"Are you going to the gala in a week?" Magnus asks walking up to Cassie's apartment.
Volkov follows, "I wasn't planning on it, why?"
"I need you to go with Cass. I know she's going, but I have other business to attend to and I need you to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid."

Volkov groans, "Why me? I just tased her today you know."
"I know, but you had no choice. Plus, that was your last 'mission' before you leave that group."
"Okay, I'll do it."
"What's the catch?"

"I can dance with her, I can hold her waist, and if the timing is right, I can kiss her. Only once, but I can still do it."
Magnus stares at him but he's being dead serious.

"You're kidding right?"
"No."
"...fine... deal."
Volkov grins, "I'll pick her up at 6 in one week."
With that, Volkov leaves.

***One Week Later (Cassie, Volkov, and Magnus have been hanging out more so Cassie and Volkov have gotten to know each other better)***
At 6 sharp, Volkov knocks on the door. Magnus opens it with a light glare. Volkov grins, a stupid grin. Cassie walks over.

"Okay, can we go? I'm bored out of my mind sitting here with Magnus!" Cassie giggles as she kisses Magnus goodbye.
Magnus cups her face and kisses her, "Be safe and don't do anything stupid, okay?" Magnus responds, kissing her again.
"Okay!"

Her and Volkov leave, Volkov grinning at Magnus. Magnus rolls his eyes but closes the door.
"You didn't have to come, you know. I can handle myself," Cassie says watching the road ahead of them.

"I know, but Magnus wanted me to come and I agree. It's not safe for you to be alone in a mafia setting. Not with what happened to your brother," Volkov responds with a gentle tone.
"You agree with me?"
"Of course, I knew your brother. He wouldn't do such a thing."

Cassie grins. They pull up to the huge mansion and get out of the car.
"So, I'm meeting someone here at 8 sharp," Cassie says timidly as they walk in.
"Why? Who?" Volkov asks, becoming more protective.

"One of Daniel's friends, he has information about him being alive and if so, where he is."
"Okay..."
"But, just him and I on that balcony," Cassie puts to the balcony she'll be meeting him later on.
"I don't like that... just you two?"
"You'll be right there, listening in, just out of sight. But for now, let's dance!"

Cassie grabs his hand and goes to the dance floor. Volkov's hands find her waist and they dance in sync. Some people even stop to stare. They grind and Cassie can't help but moan, causing Volkov to become a little more hard. Volkov spins her around so they're facing each other. Volkov leans down and kisses her, Cassie wraps her arms around his neck and the kiss deepens. Cassie can feel her core heat up. Volkov takes control of kiss. Cassie pulls away when she's out of breath.

Volkov glances at her swollen lips from the kiss.
She blushes majorly until her eyes widen, "No! What about Magnus? No no no!"
"Hey, him and I made a deal. I needed a little convincing to take you out because I felt bad taking his girl out so part of that deal was I get to kiss you once if the timing felt right... and damn did it feel right," Volkov responds, "Cass? Can I tell you something?"

"Sure."
"I like you, a lot."
Cassie hesitates, "I like you... a lot too..."
Volkov grins, "Will you come back to my place tonight?"
"Okay... but I don't want to cheat. I'll end it with Magnus if you and I will go somewhere."
"I think we'll go somewhere. I refuse to give up on you."

Cassie kisses him again. When 8 rolls around, Cassie goes out to the balcony with Volkov listening in.
"I don't have much time, so I'm going to tell you what I know," The friend tells Cassie in a rushed tone, "Yes, your brother is alive. He's being held by a ruthless gang. I only know the last name of the leader of that gang. His last name is Gusev. The man is after you as well as someone who goes by the name of Volkov Gusev. Now, that's all I know. I must get going."

The friend rushes out as Volkov walks onto the balcony, "I know what you must be thinking."
"DO YOU HAVE MY BROTHER?!" Cassie yells at him, backing away.
"My father must. I split from him years ago and have nothing to do with them. I would never do something like to Daniel," Volkov explains calmly.

"Really?"
"Yes."
They hear gunshots from inside. Volkov pulls Cassie close and cups her face, she holds onto his wrists.
"Do you trust me?" Volkov asks, leaning his forehead against hers.

"Yes, absolutely," Cassie responds, frightened.
"She's coming!" Volkov calls as he gently tosses her off the balcony.
She lands softly and a few guys help her off as Volkov comes down. They get in a car and Volkov holds Cassie close.

"Are you tired? Hungry? Thirsty?" Volkov worriedly asks Cassie.
"Yes, yes, and yes, but I'll survive until we get the chance to do something about it. It's not that big a deal," Cassie responds putting Volkov's hand on her thigh.

He smiles and draws circles, soothing her. She lays her head on his shoulder with a sigh.
"You okay?" Volkov asks quietly, wanting to keep her tired.
"Yeah, you're putting me to sleep."
He chuckles, deep and clear, bringing wetness to Cassie's core, "I'm trying. I want you to fall right asleep when we get home."
She smiles, "I think I'll fall asleep right here."
"No, no. I need you to put some food and water into your body."
