Should've Stayed Asleep.

Cassie rolls her eyes but doesn't say anything more. Cassie just listens now.
"Cat got your tongue?" Jay says snarky like.
"I just know when to shut up," She gives him a blank expression.
Tyler laughs, "I don't know why you guys are being so mean, she's great."
"She's too young," Jay says coldly, "She's just starting college!"

Macy, seeing where Jay is going, helps him, "She's so young. She still has all of her twenties while you two only have three years left. She's never going to get the college experience with you two watching over her shoulder the entire time. You remember our college days, no? How much fun we had?"
The guys, never having thought of this, look at Cassie who's falling asleep.

"Don't listen to her... I could care less about my 'college experience,'" Cassie mumbles.
"C'mon, let's go upstairs," Volkov says getting away from Macy and picking Cassie up.
"Please don't leave me..." She mumbles into his chest.
He lays her down on the bed and tucks her in, "You really don't want a college experience?"
"Not if it means I have to leave you two."

Volkov gives her a kiss, "Okay, my love. Sleep well."
He leaves and she falls asleep quick.
"How about we go swimming?" Tyler asks to cool the tension.
"Sounds nice, we have an indoor pool in the back," Magnus says heading upstairs.
Volkov follows him, "Cass doesn't care about her college experience, just us."
"I figured as much..."

They walk into the bedroom and see Cassie sleeping peacefully.
"Should we invite her?" Volkov goes over and kisses her forehead.
"She's sleeping," Magnus responds grabbing a bathing suit.
"But what if she wakes up and comes downstairs and we aren't there?"
"I guess."

"Do you not want her there? Jess and Macy have been all over us this entire time, do you like it?"
"No, absolutely not, I just want Cass rested. The more she's doing, the worse it's going to get."
"I know, it won't be for long. We'll kick them out in an hour and she'll rest the rest of the day."
Magnus chuckles, "Okay."
Volkov gently wakes Cass up, "Hi baby."
She grins ands taps Volkov's nose with her finger, "Hi."

"We're going swimming, wanna come?"
"Yes!"
Volkov helps her up. Magnus comes over with one of her bikini's. They each kiss one side of her neck while helping her get changed. She giggles and pushes them off when they're done. Volkov throws one of his shirts at her. Magnus puts it on her and then they go downstairs, grabbing towels for everyone. They walk into the pool room and everyone's already in it.

"She's back?" Macy asks, annoyed.
"Aww sorry you couldn't hit on my boyfriend more!" Cassie gives her fake sympathy.
Cassie takes the shirt off and gets in. The four guys can't keep their eyes off of her. They decide to play keep away. Macy, Volkov, and Jay are on the same team. The rest are on the same team. Macy comes over and blocks Cassie. Cass gets away and then Tyler throws it to her, but Macy tackles her. She shoves her underwater and then steals the ball from her. Since it's a salt water pool they have their eyes open so Macy flips Cassie off before shoving her farther down. Macy comes up, victorious. Cassie struggles to get up, Macy forcing her to stay down. Jay, being the closest one to help swims over quickly. He pulls Cassie up and holds her above the water while she continues to choke and cough out the water.

"What the actual fuck Macy?!" Volkov yells at her.
Cassie suddenly pushes away from Jay and swims to the edge. She pulls herself out, grabs a towel, and runs inside. Magnus and Volkov follow her after each of them grab a towel as well.
"Cassie?" Magnus asks as him and Volkov walk into their bedroom.
"Bathroom," She responds, sickly.
They walk in and see her sitting in front of the toilet.

"Is it your fever?" Volkov kneels down rubbing her back.
"Yeah..."
"I'll tell them to leave," Magnus says.
"No! I'm fine, you guys go hangout."
"Cass seriously? You're not fine."
"I've taken care of myself every time I get sick, this is no different. Go have fun!"

"Are you sure, Cassandra? We need you to be sure before we can just leave you," Volkov searches her eyes for any sign that she might be lying.
"Go have fun and happy birthday!" Cassie says grinning.
"Okay..."

They each give her head a kiss and then head out. Cassie cleans herself up and changes. She lays down and when everything is quiet, she can hear them all laughing in the pool room. She smiles and drifts off to sleep.
