"Magnus?" Cassie asks from the soft, heavenly bed when she hears him pick up the phone.
"Cass?! Where are you?" He responds, panicked.
"Volkov, he has Daniel and Toni... he needs me to get information out of Daniel."
"Are you okay? Is he hurting you?"

"No... he hasn't laid a threatening hand on me... I think he really does have feelings for me."
"Is he there? With you?"
"N-" Cassie is about to respond but Volkov walks in, "Now he is."
Volkov climbs on top of her and takes the phone, "She likes it here, Magnus. I spoil her, no need to worry for her health," Volkov kisses Cassie's neck and she giggles.

Magnus clenches his fist, "What information does Daniel have?"
"His gang, is still a gang just hidden. I want to take over but I need to know who's included."
"I can help. I can get you that information."
"Let's meet up."
"I want Cassandra there."
"Fine. 30 minutes, let's meet at Coffee Café."
"Okay."

Volkov hangs up and goes back to kissing Cassie's neck. She gently shoves at him, giggling.
"What was that about?" She asks when he pulls away to look at her.
"He's going to help me get the information I need," Volkov helps her up.

They get to the café 5 minutes early but Magnus is already there. Volkov and Cass order and then go over to Magnus' table. Magnus stands up and gives Cassie a hug. She nuzzles into him and then gives him a kiss. He pulls a chair out for her and she sits down, grateful. Volkov glares at him but doesn't say anything.
"Cass, I want you to move back in with me," Magnus starts right away.

"But..." She starts but trails off.
"He betrayed you, Cass, he doesn't really love you. He just wants to use you."
"That's not true, Cassandra. I love you, I truly do. Who do you really want to be with? I grew up like you, my parents were all kinds of abusive. I was on my own, had to move out at 16 just like you. I barely finished high school. But Magnus? He doesn't understand you, your pain, he grew up rich with perfect parents," Volkov cuts in.

"I'll listen to you Cassie, I will. I'll try to understand."
"I hope you have some actual mafia stuff to talk about... I'm not choosing who I love more!" Cass tells them.
They both sigh and sit back.
"You two can't be serious, you'd break me if you told me to choose."
They remain quiet.

"Yes, I'm pissed Volkov kidnapped my brother and betrayed me, but Magnus you're not so perfect either. You keep me in the dark about things and put my life in danger without ever telling me!"
They still refuse to talk and Cassie's heart starts to break.
"Guys?" Her voice breaks.

They look at her and she can't handle it anymore. She gets up and walks out the door. She takes off running, swiping furiously at tears. The guys follow her but she doesn't hear them, too caught up in her thoughts. They easily outrun her and pull her into an alleyway. She pulls away from them.

"Don't. Don't come near me anymore," She holds her hand out to stop them, "Why won't you say anything?!" She screams at them.
"We don't know what to say. No matter how 'perfect' my parents are, I've never felt the love I feel from you," Magnus speaks first, "If you'll still have me, I want to try again."

"Cassie, I love you like I've never loved anyone before. I've never had someone show so much interest and love in me either. I've only known people to be after me for my body," Volkov tells her honestly, "I'd like to try again, if you'll let me."
"So I'm still expected to choose?" She asks her voice weak but she's not crying anymore, "Shit, behind you!" She yells at them and they whip around.

They fight off the first few but there's too many. They turn around to get Cassie but she's gone. They see someone at the end of the alley running away, carrying someone in there arms.
"Fuck!" Magnus yells.
"We have to get out of here or we won't be able to get her back!" Volkov yells at him.

Magnus gets his gun and starts shooting the guys coming towards them. Volkov does the same. They get back to Magnus' car and get in. They take off and head back to Volkov's headquarters.
"Sir! The prisoners escaped! They had someone working with them on the inside!" Someone runs up to Volkov.

Magnus sighs, "At least Cass is safe."
Volkov sighs as well, "Thankfully, it must have been Daniel's gang. She would have recognized them if they were Toni's."
They walk into his office and he slams the door shut, "Shit!"

"Cass and Daniel are extremely close, and Antonio still has feelings for her so I doubt they'll lay a harmful finger on her," Magnus tries to calm Volkov down.
"We were so careless."
"I don't think she's going to be very mad about that. She'd rather get kidnapped while trying to figure out our relationship then anything. Which reminds, we shouldn't make her choose. You heard her, it would break her."

"Yeah, I agree."
"I'll forgive you, if you want to try with Cass again."
"I do, I want to make right by Cass."
Magnus nods, "Now, let's get back to finding her."

Sorry for the shorter chapter! How are you all liking it so far? Honestly, I was surprised by all the twists and turns we've been having lately! I'm writing the book, but it was still all so surprising haha!
