Cheyenne's POV
Kellin grabbed my hand as we snuck out through my window and out to the alley behind my house. We laughed quietly as we got further and further away and closer to our hideout.
It was a tree, next to the train tracks were all of us as kids would go to fight. During the day, when I wasn't in the fight, the tree would be the perfect spot to watch and place bets on who would win. Then at night, the tree served as our beautiful get away under the stars. It was our place, me and Kellin's, and everyone knew it. It was our home.
"Did you bring the stuff?" I asked Kellin as we climbed up the tree using the little foot holes we made when we were eight.
"It's all right here, Turtle!" Kellin smiled as he got out the portable DVD player and the last three Harry Potter movies. "Did you bring your stuff?" I got out the six pack of Dr. Pepper, a bag of Cheddar Ruffles, and some blankets. "Yay for Turtle!"
"Ok Kellin, so since this is our last few months in high school..." I started as we set everything up in the tree house we built way up in the tree so no one would know it was there. "I think that I should ditch that nickname and just go by Cheyenne."
"But... I've always called you Turtle, that's your name."
"I'm not saying that you can't call me Turtle. I just mean that don't try to get everyone else to call me it."
"But what about the girls from your Water Polo team, or Softball?" Kellin asked as we settled next to each other for the movie.
"They only called me that during games and when do I really ever talk to them?"
"You're right." Kellin paused, "But I can still call you Turtle right?"
"Yes Kellin, you and only you, can call me Turtle." I laughed as Kellin struck his "winning" pose. "Stop being dumb and watch the movie!"
"Ok Turtle." Kellin wrapped his arms around me and we spent the night watching movies. Life couldn't get better with my best friend.
