"Hey Dannie hand me a napkin?" I asked as she giggled into her phone. Ever since her and Alex started dating they called each other everyday while we had lunch. It was really endearing to listen to them talk about their day and make cute compliments to each other. Dannie had been in a lot of different relationships throughout the years but never one like this. Alex treated her like a princess and made sure that she felt that way even when he knew he couldn't be around her 24/7. It was great to see her with someone that actually cared.
"Okay Alex, I'll talk to you later. Bye baby." Dannie said and hung up her phone. She turned her attention to the chips and sandwich in front of her. "When did I get this?"
"I got that for you while you were talking to Alex." I smiled as she happily put a chip into her mouth.
"Awe I have the best friend in the world!" She cheered.
"Yeah, you kinda do." I winked making her giggle. "So what has Sexy Lexy been up to?" I asked wiggling my brow.
"He said that schools good, band is doing great, and that we'll be able to spend all summer together."
"Oh yeah? Why is that?"
"Because I'm gonna go with them while they play warped!"
"They're playing too!" Dannie nodded excitedly and I hugged her.
"Speaking of spending time with boyfriends, where is yours?"
"Probably with the guys somewhere." I answered making Dannie squint her eyes at me. I looked back at her confused.
"That doesn't bother you?"
"No. Why would it?"
"I just figured that he would be all over you now that you were together, I mean he has been mind fucking you at school for years now." I laughed so hard that I almost choked on my water. This caused a chain reaction that led to Dannie falling off of the bench in laughter. I picked her up off the ground still in hysterics as Christa and her little minions walked up to our table.
"Why hello there dumb and dumber." Christa said with a smirk written across her face.
"Man I can't believe you let Christa talk about you guys like that Annaleah and Andrea." Dannie said and I let out a short laugh.
"She wouldn't talk to us like that," said Andrea.
"Not in front of you, anyways." I said and Christa leaned down on the table to get in my face. It would be so easy to pop her in her jaw right now but then again it would require effort and I was not in the mood to put any effort into Christa.
"Listen to me Cheyenne. You aren't shit. So you can go on believing you are this big deal but I am gonna show you the low life you really are." I rolled my eyes. God, this was so stupid. In less than a fucking month we will be out of high school and split ways never to see each other ever again. Why did it matter so much to her that I "knew my place"? It was about time that this ended.
"Okay, Christa I get it. You are the queen and you run this school. Good for you. I really just don't care what you do to me. I'm over it." I said and it just made Christa lean in even closer in order for her to achieve the intimidation she craved from me. But I wasn't going to let her have it. If I could go up against girls three times my size during water polo or even softball without backing down, then what the hell was going to make me start to cower now?
"I have ways to make you crumble. Don't think for a second I won't use them."
"Christa I would be a little more intimidated if that leafy piece of lettuce in your teeth wasn't calling your bullshit and telling me that everything was going to be fine." Christa shrieked as she turned away to get a mirror to get it out of her teeth. "Can I name my new friend?" I asked.
