Kellin's POV
"Turtle I have these feelings for you and always have. No. . . Turtle I love you. . . No." Before I could tell Cheyenne how I felt I needed to make sure I knew what I was going to say so I wouldn't make a fool of myself. It turns out I didn't know what to say. "Turtle I-"
"Want to hear you moan my name and leave scratches down my back." I turned around to see Vic laughing at me in the door way.
"Fuck, I didn't know you were there." I mumbled nervously.
"It's okay man. I'm glad that you are finally gonna tell her though."
"I'm nervous, Vic. I don't know if I can do it." I said as Vic came and put his hands on my shoulders.
"I remember the first day you and Cheyenne met. When she fell off of the monkey bars and you ran to save her. You've been running to her ever since. Now it's time to stop running and scoop her in her arms are go into the sunset."
I looked out the door and saw Cheyenne sitting on the bench outside staring at the moon. I then looked back at Vic who smiled and pushed me towards the door before disappearing back into the dance. As I stepped outside Cheyenne turned her head and stood up. "Wow, you look like a scene out of Breakfast at Tiffany's." I let out making her blush.
"I'm no where near Audrey Hepburn Kells." She said laughing.
"You're right you're a lot prettier." Cheyenne's face was completely flushed with red and she kept trying to duck her head to keep me from seeing. Well here goes nothing. "Turtle, I have been meaning to tell you something for a while now, well years but anyway. . ." I trailed off watching her duck her face down as I grabbed her hand. This was impossible. She was just too perfect and I was being a complete idiot.
"Kellin, I. . ." She started, making me eagerly squeeze her hand. I lifted her chin so that I could look into those big brown eyes that I adored. Her hair was hanging over her eye so I gently brushed it out of her face. She bit her lip and I mimicked her. I felt myself start to go in for kiss and she followed my actions. Then just as I was about to brush against her she pulled away slightly, making my cringe. She didn't feel the same. I was such an idiot. "Kellin, I love you." She whispered barely audible and I couldn't help but smile. She giggled to herself and I pulled her body up against mine.
"I love you, turtle. I always have." I said to her, still holding her body against mine.
"I've been waiting to hear you say that since we were 14 and you kissed me in your room that night. But after that it was like it was never going happen. Like the idea of us was history."
"You're so insane." I said and she raised her eyebrow in confusion. "Don't you get it Chey? No other girl would ever match up to you. They would all take the backseat to how incredible you were and everyone knew it. Everyone except for you. I have been in love with you for so freaking long that it hurt. Then to see you with someone like Damon, who could never treat you like you needed to be treated, it killed me inside."
"Then why didn't you ever tell me! I never wanted anyone else but you, you idiot!" I burst into laughter and Cheyenne shook her head.
"For the same reason you never told me, I didn't want to ruin our friendship." Cheyenne smiled and I saw stars in her eyes. That's when I finally pulled those luscious lips to mine and the world stopped. Her lips moved with mine softly and passionately. I pulled her closer to me and put my hands on her hips. She threw her arms around my neck and deepened the kiss. We pulled away breathlessly as we heard everyone behind us.
"Fucking finally!" Said Jack as we looked back to our entire group of friends. I looked back at Cheyenne who was completely red. I kissed her forehead and we walk back over to join our group of friends.
