Emily hugged her teddy bear and scrolled through all the memories she and Samantha had made. She looked to her shelf and saw a friendship bracelet that Samantha made for her. She smiled, but then it went back to a frown.
"Stupid brat," she muttered.
Knock knock!
"Ohh Emily!~ I've made your favourite hashbrowns and chocolate milk!~" Emily's mother called out.
Emily sighed and walked to her door.
"Maybe that would cheer me up...how could I say no to such a delicous meal?" she muttered to herself, again.
Then, she walked out of her door. She sat down on her chair with an unhappy look. Her mother noticed it and asked gently, "Hey, what's wrong?"
Emily kept quiet and started muching on her hashbrown.
Her mother started to become concerned.
"Emily, I know when you're sad or upset. Come on, tell me what's wrong," said Emily's mother.
"It's nothing, mom. I'm just tired," Emily responded as she took another bite on her hashbrown.
Emily's mother started to worry.
"If you're ever sad or upset, I will know," she said as she sat on another chair beside Emily.
Emily sighed. She then told her mother about everything.
