The day of the Yule Bal came faster than expected. Girls racing to their hair done- doing extreme measures with charms and new hair products from Witch Weekly- and gossiping about the dates they had. The boys were still messing around about an hour before they had to be ready.
Blair was getting ready on her own- not really wanting to get ready with any of her classmates or any of Hogwarts girls. Terry had decided to get ready on his own as well- not that he was hiding himself from anyone like Blair was. Blair was keeping to the formality of a formal entrance. It's what most of the girls were looking forward to. To see the look on their dates faces as they made their way down the grand staircase.
Using muggle ways, Blair kept her hair in waves before bunching the top half into a slight updo. Leaving the front pieces to frame her face-
Her makeup was kept simple with a smoky eye and a garnet red lipstick. It took her only an hour and a half to be ready. Her dress- she had picked up before school had even started- was a dark shade of blue, like the night sky, at the top and slowly faded into a nebula purple and then into what could pass for a cloudy grey-blue. Fabric ruffled from the base of the dress creating a skirt that would spin out when in motion. Tiny spaghetti straps held it onto her shoulders as ruffles draped along her upper arm to create a more princess effect.
Blair's favorite part was the fact that their were constellations on the dress that sparkled from actual magic. A touch that her father, Regulus Black, had helped her achieve before coming to school.
