Dragon Trainer (Hiccup x oc)

chapter 5

"Welcome to dragon training!" Gobber said as he opened the gate to the dragon killing arena. "No turning back." Asher said as the rest of the group followed behind besides Hiccup. Eria wishes that Hiccup will show up so she have to deal with the constant flirting caused by Snotlout.

"I hope I get some serious burns." Tuffnut says. "I'm hoping for some mauling like on my shoulder or lower back." Ruffnut says responding to her brother's comment.

"It's only fun if you get a scar out of it." Astrid says after the twins have finished "Yeah, no kidding, right?. Pain. Love it." Eria jumped as she heard her best friend's voice behind her. She walked over so she wa standing next to him. "Great. Who let him in." Tuffnut responds as he sees Hiccup.

"Let's get started. The best recruit will have the honor of killing his first dragon in front of the entire village." Gobber says gesturing to the arena.  "Hiccup already killed a night fury, so does that disqualify him or?" Snotlout questions. Eria pulls the knife out of her belt and throws it off a bit from Snotlout so it hit the wall in front of him. "Do you ever shut up?" Eria asks.

Erik tries to hide his laugh as he watches his sister knock Snotlout down a couple notches. Eria looks at him with a smile but all he does is look at their dad. Eria's smile drops and looks back at her dad. Hiccup puts his hand on her shoulder. Eria looks back at him and smiles a bit.  

"Can I transfer to the class with the cool vikings?" Tuffnut says as the group walks off. "Don't worry. You're small and weak, it will make you less of a target. They'll see you as sick or insane and go after the more viking-like teens instead." Eria rolls her eyes. "Dad, you don't have to shut him down like that!" Gobber chuckles as he goes in front of the group.

"Behind these doors are just a few of the many species you will learn to fight. The Deadly Nadder." "Speed 8, armor 16." "The Hideous Zippleback." "Plus 11 stealth. Times 2." "The Monstrous Nightmare." "Firepower 16." "The Terrible Terror." "Attack 8, venom 12!" Fishlegs finishes. "Can you stop that?!" Gobber yells at Fishlegs. "And the Gronckle." Gobber says setting hi hand on the lever. "Jaw strength 8." Fishlegs whispers to Hiccup and Eria. "Very cool Fishlegs." Eria says smiling at him.

"Woah, wait! Aren't you going to teach us first?!" Snotlout yells. "I believe on learning on the job." Gobber says as he pulls the lever and the dragon flies out. "Today is about survival, if you get blasted, you're dead! Quick what's the first thing you'll need?" Gobber asks. "A doctor." Hiccup responds. "Plus 5 speed." Fishlegs yells. "A shield." Erik yells. "Sheilds, go!" Everyone runs to grab a shield. "Your most important piece of equipment is your shield! If you must choose between a sword or a shield, take the shield!"

As the twins run to the same shield they both grab it. "Get your hands off my shield!" Tuffnut yells at his sister. "There's a million shields." She yells back. "Take that one. It has flowers, girls like flowers." Ruffnut raises the shield and hits Tuffnut with it. "Oops, now this one has blood on it." But what the twins didn't know is that the Gronckle was coming right for them. The dragon shots a fire ball and it hits the shield in between them.

"Tuffnut, Ruffnut! You're out!" Gobber yells at the pair. "Those shields are good for another thing. Noise! Make lots of it to throw off a dragons aim! All dragons have a limited amount of shots. How many does a Gronckle have?" Goober asks as the dragon continues to attack the group. "Five?" Snotlout ask. "No, six!" Fishlegs yells. "Correct, six! That's one for each of you!" Gobber says as the Gronckle shoots at Fishlegs.

"Fishlegs out." Gobber says. "Hiccup get in there!" As Hiccup tries to get to Eria's side he gets shot at and goes back to where he was hiding. Snotlout comes up behind Eria. "I moved into my parents' basement. You should come by to work out.  You look like you work out." Eria rolls her eyes but noticed the dragon coming at her so she rolled out of the way. She looked back at Snotlout to see him on the ground. She chuckled before getting up. "Snotlout you're done." Eria comes up next Hiccup and Asher.

"So I guess it's just us 3." Hiccup said but Astrid responded "Nope, just you 2." Asher took off as the dragon locked eyes with Eria. "One shot left!" Gobber yells. Hiccup loses his shield and starts to run after it. "Hiccup!" Eria yells as the Gronckle goes after him. As Hiccup comes to a wall Eria runs to him and slides under the beast. When she makes it to Hiccup she puts her shield up in front of them as the Gronckle takes it's last shot.

"And that's six. Go back to bed you overgrown sausage!" Gobber says as he shoots the beast into the ho;ding area. "You'll get another chance, don't you worry. Remember a dragon will always, always go for the kill." Gobber pulls Hiccup and Eria up and walks off.
