You wake up feeling ravaged- basically slobbering all over your bed and eating the sheets off your pillow hungry. You try to remember when you last ate, and it turns out that you haven't eaten in three days out of being so worried about your new job that starts next month. You roll out of bed with a thump of you falling on the floor and stumble up to grab some cloaths to go out and get some food.
Getting to the fridge, you open it and realize everything is expired. Now you have to go outside and go to the grocery store, and that thought just makes your stomach go even more rumbly rumbly. You cant help but groan in annoyance as you make your way towards the door, almost forgetting your car keys.
You commonly trip over your feet as you enter the car, as your head becomes lighter and you feel nauseous. You start the car and drive out onto the road- luckily, you live near the downtown center so you can reach the store quickly. While on the road, you begin to daydream about the food that you may get- and almost get into a crash. Whats that? In the corner of your eye, you can see a large 'Jack in the box' sign, with a driveway thats very easy to enter. You quickly turn you car around and drive toward it, perhaps breaking a few road laws, but you have an acceptable excuse! Well, your pretty sure anyways.
Parking your car, you race towards the door, seeing a man beside it, but you don't mind the details. And then- tripping and slamming your head into the glass, you slightly tilt your head up and see the man in a business suit, a circle head with a pointy nose. But before you can see more, you fall into a semi-consciousness.
You open your eyes to see the ceiling above your head and you rest on a sofa. On the table next to you, you can see and smell a freshly baked and delicious taco wrapped in a soft tortilla shell, and a large Pepsi beside it. Basically jumping up from your seat, you grab the taco and start eating it- melting in its delicious delight.
The man in the tux looks over and looks relieved. ¨Are you okay?¨ He asks, sitting down in front of you.
You quickly nod, some of the meat falling out of the amazing taco.
He laughs a hearty laugh, his voice seeming soothing all your worries in the world. The only thing you can think of is the nice man in front of you and this delicious taco...
¨Whats your name?¨ You manage to mumble, slurping down the Pepsi.
¨Jack I. in the box, but you can just call me Jack. You had me worried- I thought that you had died. That would not be good for business.¨ He leaned forward as a man behind him- perhaps his boss- chuckled. You felt yourself blush. Suddenly, the surroundings got less blurry and you noticed the loud noise of people chattering and gobbling down some fresh food. "Where am I...?" You ask, starting to look around. "This is a jack-in-the-box restaurant.¨ "Oh yeah- I remember pulling into here, I was famished." You remember, And cant help but start laughing.
¨It appears you are.¨ Jack said, pointing at the once-present food crumbs in front of you. ¨I- Uh-¨ You stutter, now a red blush covering your face.
¨Do you want something else? On the house, by the way.¨ He blinked and you felt a new type of embarrassment rising up inside of you. ¨S-sure!¨ You mutter, watching him walk away. The boss that was behind his waves at you, walking away to make sure his employes are doing well. At least, thats what you hope.
Jack returns quickly and gives you another one of the taco, and you cant help but dig in.
¨Delicious, huh?¨ He starts, and begins rambling on how proud he is about his business before he hears a call from the back counter. ¨Oops- Sorry, stay as long as you want!¨ He says in a hurried tone, now quickly walking away from you to meet his boss.
You take no notice of this and continue eating your delicious, soft fresh and carefully made taco. Its almost like it was made out of love for only you! You cant help but smile as you stand up and clean your plate, putting all the money Jack should have made you pay in a 'donations' box on the side of the counter. You return home and collapse on the bed- the only thing you can think about at this moment is getting to sleep...
