Chapter 4 The ideas for escape

I continued, "It's smart but I also have to find someone who escaped years ago."

We both see Aria going to a hope chest and grabbing a book looking like a collage but it had project help out on the front. She puts the book down and opens it to the first escape. The name was scratched out and all that remained on the document was No.1 and a few little parts of the documents were in the sleeve.

Aria admired "The first escaped SCF kid was No.1 the first admitted SCF kid."

I ask "Do you have anything on No.1113529 or No.404."

Aria looks at me weirdly.

Aria recounted "no I don't have anything on these project numbers but I knew them by names though."
I gushed "Sadyia, her name is Sadyia."
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Kato lift his head and look at me and look back at the book on the table.

Kato spat out "Sadyia. The first escapes with a different project group."

Kato looks surprised and grabs a picture out of his back pocket. Then slides it to me. I see that it is Sadyia and her friend. He looks at me concerned.

I ask "what's up Kato? Is something wrong?"

Kato gulped " She was project 404 and you and she were a team but what happened?"
I look down towards the ground.

I sighed "she was like my sister we both grew up here. We did not meet our parents. Born and raised here. But after she was needed for an experiment they changed her number so far off and did not tell me for almost 3 years. One day I asked to see her and the scientist that I talked to told me straight to my face that she will never come back."

Kato gushed "Why would they do that? Why do they do any of this stuff to any of us?"

Aria explained "We were either born with something to study or you developed it. That's all that we can understand at this time with the information given."

Aria flips to Sadyia's page and all of the information was there for the day that she was removed from the partner's group to the next level; they both are from completely different levels. There is also information on who her parents are andwhere she is from. Even the day that she left the SCF foundations ground. I see a little bag with an electronic chip.

Aria chimed "It's almost time to get ready to Go To Sleep."

I take my plate and cup into the kitchen and clean them off. Kato does the same and we go into the second bedroom. I walked into the bathroom and I braided my charms and beads into my hair. I walked out of the bathroom and put on my black hoodie and started to go to sleep.

Kato asks, "So all that we do is just go to sleep."

I explain "No you will see what is going to go on tonight. We need at least some sleep. So go to sleep."

Kato mumbles something and after that, we both try to go to sleep. It hits 3 am and I am jolted out of my sleep.

Aria whispers to me "It's time to get going."

We all go into the living room and she starts talking about the chip that is in our ear. She talks about how she can remove the chip and what we have to do to escape. Aria takes us to her friend Jackson. He tells us where to go and what places around the facility are safe for projects. I see kato get passed a map with an x on a spot.

Aria asserted "I'll see you once we get a bigger group. Make sure that you stay hidden."

Aria hands me a notebook. I see my and Kato's names in the notebook.

Aria whispers, "I enchanted it with the names that will be joining you in the little town we marked for you."

I whisper back "like a roster of people."

We walked out with Jackson. We walk for a while and in the distance, we see the last guard post and Jackson is unable to travel any further. He pointed us in the right direction of the place that we needed to go.

After a long run, we get to the place that would help us. We see the sunrise and I point out a bush that we could hide in until we find the projects that live here. We both don't want to be caught so we both agreed to not talk. I think it hit about 7 am and people started to walk over to a gathering place. It is like one of these outside concerts but instead of there being a concert there is just one person on the middle stage.

One moment I saw Sadyia and rubbed my eyes thinking that this was not real. She was seated in the back with another project. I tap Kato and he looks at me. I point at Sadyia and the other project.

Kato gets up grabs my bag and his and walks out of the bush. I hesitantly followed behind. He taps Sadyia on her shoulder. Sadyia sees me and she runs toward me.

Sadyia yells "I did not think that it would be you joining the escapist club. The mayor is starting to announce something about the SCF."
Sadyia pats the other chair and signals me to sit beside her. I sit down and Kato sits next to me. We listen to the mayor. After about an hour when the meeting was over, Sadyia grabbed me by my arm and hugged me.

Sadyia emphasized "come on it's time to go home and for you two to get set up in the house. Once we get you both a lanyard with your information then we can get you somewhere to live. For now, you are stuck with us."

Max looks over at Kato and I see where Sadyia is pointing. It is a dark gray house and it has 3 windows in the front and a porch. The porch had a dark red and a little lighter red outside chair and there was also a swing on the front. The swing had a name on it. "Amber the protector" is engraved onto the swing.
