Casey
"You are not breaking your promise." Bea said sternly as she filled two glasses with orange juice. She handed one to me and seated herself on the couch in front of me.
"But Bea, he's not like Sam. I've known him for like ever." I tried to defend Jack, but Bea wasn't buying it. "Yeah, isn't he the same Jack that chose Lily over your friendship?" Bea fired, shutting me up. She did have a point. He did put me through hell back in Omaha, but I still love him.
"When will my life be peaceful again, god, what did I do to deserve this mysery?" I sighed thinking about the past two years. The two most horrible years of my life. "I'm not telling you to break contact with him again, you just have to build up the friendship you once had." Bea gave me some advice as she patted my back. I just stared ahead of me, not seeing a way out of this drama.
"This is like the friendzone all over again." I mumbled and got up from my couch, putting my glass in the sink. Bea told me she was leaving and as soon as Bea left, the doorbell rang again, so thinking it was Bea who forgot something, I yelled the door was open and laid down on the couch.
"What's up, Case." I watched Jack making his way over to me, I jumped up and covered my face so Jack wouldn't see me in this state. "Jaaack, I look like shit right now. Couldn't you warn me?" I whined making my way to the bathroom as Jack was following me. "I've seen you plenty of times like this before, it's not like we're strangers." Jack had a point there, he saw me at my worst.
"What's up with the swollen lip? Did Casey Wilson get into a fight?" Jack acted surprised, knowing I'm not the type to fight. "Yeah, I slayed some bitches." I joked along as I crossed my arms against my chest, looking badass as fuck.
"Seriously though, what happened?" He asked, sounding more worried now. I grew more nervous as Jack was waiting for an answer. "I fell, you know how clumsy I am." I shrugged it off. Jack didn't seem to believe me, but he gladly let it go. He walked closer to me, sneaking his arms around my waist and just rested his forehead on mine.
"You don't understand how much I missed you." Jack mumbled, his nose softly brushing against mine. Suddenly, Bea's advice came to mind, causing me to push Jack off immediately. He seemed startled, but I giggled making it seem as if I was playing. "What's the matter?" He asked, stepping closer.
"Let's not make this too cheesy, shall we?" I said, hoping he'd get the hint.
Johnson
"I hate myself." Sam stomped his foot on the floor as he had his head buried in his hands. He's been like this since the day he hit Casey after she tried breaking up. "We could've been just friends, but no, I had to take it to a whole other level and make her hate me all over again." He continued complaining about it.
If he knew I brought Jack and Casey back together, I knew for a fact he'd pretty much kill my ass. That's why he wasn't allowed to talk to Casey at all.
After I told the boys I was heading out, I texted Jack and asked him to come pick me up so we could talk. I felt the urge to tell him Sam's after Casey. I want him to claim her as soon as possible, before Sam strikes again.
"Hey bro, your text sounded important." Jack said once I entered his car after he picked me up. "Yeah, it's about Casey." I spoke up, Jack's head snapping at me almost immediately. "What about her?" He asked, his eyes back on the road.
"Look you know how I live with Sam Wilkinson?" Jack's jaw tensed up when I mentioned Sam's name. He nodded, signalling for me to continue. "Well, ever wondered how I found Casey?" I slowly gave some hints, hoping he'd catch what I was trying to say.
"I was too happy to even think about that, but now you mentioned it, I am curious." Jack admitted as he slowed down for the traffic light that just turned red. "Sam happened to bump into her a couple of weeks ago. He brought her home and immediately introduced her as his girlfriend-" I couldn't even finish talking or Jack had already cut me off.
"He what?!" Jack yelled out of frustration and held the steering wheel as tight as he could. "Yeah, they were dating for almost a month, until she suddenly decided to break up with him. Her swollen lip is the result-"
"He fucking laid his filthy hands on her again?" Jack yelled, making a U-turn. "Where you going, bro?" I asked, holding my seat as tight as I could. He was speeding up and driving to god knows where.
"What's the address?" Jack asked, more like demanded. "Dude, I'm not bringing you to Sam, you're going to kill him and get your ass thrown in jail." I told him the consequences. I've known Jack longer than today and Casey and I both know he can go from friendly to aggressive in just a second.
"Johnson, I've tried committing suicide, do you really think I'm scared of being thrown into jail?" Jack spat and I could tell he tried keeping himself calm by biting his teeth, that's what he always does.
Jack shook his head and let out a sigh he's been holding in for a long time apparently.
"I can't believe Casey puts up with all this shit being thrown at her. I want to give her a normal life, like other teenage girls." I heard Jack mumble and that's when I knew their love was real. He truly loves her.
