Rui entered his house. "Welcome back. You left me here for 4 months!" his housemate and childhood best friend, Nene, complained. "I know, I know, sorry. You know how the I.S. are." he apologized. "What's with the red face? Don't tell me you ran into another spice bush."

And well, Rui had been caught. Spotted.

He flopped onto his bed and groaned. "Nene I'm in a major predicament." The girl rolled her eyes. "It's about your current mission?" she guessed. "Yes. That." Rui sighed in relief, she was never gonna suspect that-

"There's another reason, huh?" she added. "And don't say 'sleep deprivation' or 'potions exploding' or 'your staff is busted' or 'you spilled ramune on your spellbook'. I know your excuses." Nene said, knowing her friend's mannerisms.

"I'm literally trusting you ok?"
"Just spit it out."

"I think I might be in love."

Nene blinked. "Well congratulations. Your empty love life is finally half-full." she mocked nonchalantly. "Don't get cocky just because this is your 2nd anniversary with Emu!" "3rd." she corrected with a smirk.

"So who's the lucky man?" Rui paused. "How'd you know it was a dude?" he asked. "Seriously, Rui? Look at yourself."

"Well I'm not telling you." his ears flushed as the knight's face showed in his mind again. This was a major problem! Number one, this man was a knight, number two, he looked like he was way out of Rui's league, number three, he was still looking for his target and number four, they were enemies! There was no way he would ever wanna date Rui!

"But he was the cutest guy I've ever seen!" he buried his face into his pillow and groaned. "Well while you solve that issue, I'm going to sleep. Goodnight." Nene retreated to her room.

This. Was. Bad.

The following night, Tsukasa sat at the edge of the cliff. Toya was somewhere at the other mountain and he needed to check on him. But before he did, he thought back to his encounter yesterday. "Rui... you still haven't changed." he hummed to himself. The sorcerer still had that cat-like face, his hair was still gorgeously messy and well... he looked just as beautiful as the day Tsukasa lost him.

He looked up. The moon was lovely, perfect to get some wing excercise.

And then he jumped.
