Seonghwa wakes up the next day, excusing himself from the ceremony preparations. He wants to spend all his time with Jongho. As much as he would love Yunho to join them, he knows Yunho is supposed to work. "He already took a leave yesterday. I don't want mom to get mad," says Seonghwa, Jongho still pouting to make his hyungs change their minds.
"It's okay, Jongho. We'll be going together in the evening," Yunho whispers, assuring him they will spend time together.
"Now, what do you want to do, Jongho?" says Seonghwa, leaving Yunho to work.
"Since you were so confident about your sword fighting skills yesterday, let's finally test that, shall we?" says Jongho, clearly challenging Seonghwa.
"Oh, you still think you can win," Seonghwa scoffs. "Let's go," he says.
The next minute both the boys are standing in what seems like a never-ending piece of grassland with guards surrounding them and a table with swords placed on it.Seonghwa lets Jongho choose his sword first. The next moment he wonders if he did right by neglecting Jongho's skills. The way Jongho examines them before picking the finest one on the table tells a lot about his familiarity.
"You chose a good one," says Seonghwa, smiling.
"Watch me win, hyung," Jongho says, making Seonghwa laugh.
He knows the youngest is very competitive, and Seonghwa finds it funny because he is here for fun. He remembers how he was the first person who introduced sword fighting to Jongho when San brought Jongho to the castle because Jongho was bored of his vocal classes. He remembers the precious laugh that escaped Jongho when San almost professionally tackled Seonghwa on the ground as he watched the match. San is not someone who plays on the field. He fights furiously. Seonghwa would be scared if he didn't know San would never hurt him. They decided to let Seonghwa go over the basics with Jongho, and the latter turned out to be natural, just like San. No one was surprised. Seonghwa's sole purpose today is to see Jongho's progress since last time.
"Has San been teaching you?" says Seonghwa, picking up his sword and taking his position.
"Yes, but not just him. I have a teacher," says Jongho, taking his position. Their swords clash with a loud clang. Without delay, Jongho makes the first attack. Seonghwa takes a few steps back in defense, his additional height over Jongho giving him a little benefit. Jongho doesn't stop until he thinks he accidentally hurt Seonghwa as Seonghwa falls back.
"Hyung, did I hurt you?" says Jongho, kneeling at Seonghwa's level.
"I'm fine, Jongho. Don't worry," the older one says, getting up.
"Hyung, stop going easy on me. I see what you're doing there," Jongho pouts, making Seonghwa giggle.
This time Seonghwa decides to attack first. As they continue to fight, he notices how Jongho's techniques are familiar to San but with a hint of Jongho's uniqueness.
"You are stronger than last time. You must have trained well," says Seonghwa, now defending himself against Jongho's attack.
