Welcome to the short story Untold Secrets, thank you so much for reading.
First things first, the reason I made this intro, is I want to say that this is loosely based on what happened to someone I knew at school who's in the same grade as me. Of course though, there are going to be made-up aspects, like some romance between two characters. The reason I'm really making this book is to sorta get it out of my head—if that makes sense. I didn't know this guy who chose to take his life, but today I've just been very emotional about it. So yeah, I guess this is a sorta vent/rant story.
Second thing, as you can probably gather from context clues, this story is going to follow a suicidal protagonist. Please please if you are suicidal, try to understand that there are so many people out there who is there for you, even if you don't know it. Go surround yourself with their embrace, and please remember that what you do effects not just you or your family but the peers that have been upraised with you. I'm not going to order you to seek out professional help, because I know that that's not always going to be the thing that makes you stop harming yourself.
It's most likely going to be the people you love that's going to lift you from rock bottom. If you do want professional help though, I suggest texting the suicidal hotline: 988. There a lot of other suicidal hotlines you can text as well.
Third thing, this isn't going to be a normal book— well what's normal for me to write. You can probably tell just by reading this that I'm not really my usual bubbly self, if you've followed me and noticed the way I talk online. I've just felt so, so sad today (the day I began writing this). So, as stated before, this is an ode to not just the kid who did suicide, but also my entire freshmen class— who for the first time since I've gone to high school was nothing but serious today.
Fourth thing, this book is about deep things: suicide, self-harm, death, depression and other mental disorders, and possibly other dark and mature themes. In other words, this book isn't for the faint of heart. If you're sensitive to these topics, then just be aware if you this short story that this doesn't have a happy ending or any of the sort nor am I filtering any of it. This is going to feel real, probably the realest I'll ever write, being the fanfiction fanatic I am.
And finally, I haven't had any problems with this so far, but don't comment any hate of the sort; especially on this story. This is a very touchy subject and I won't tolerate any hate towards anything or anyone. End of discussion.
