He sighed, this is not the 'break' Naomasa hoped for.

He would rather be at home, sleeping in his bed, he'd already had to interrogate at least seven villains today, none were cooperative.

Not that he needed that, he had his lie detector quirk, so he made short work of them anyway, though he had to play the last couple slow.

But he was tired, and frankly wouldn't mind if he did fall asleep here at his desk.

Not that the others would stop him.

Until a newer officer approached.

She had just started yesterday, he thinks her name is Halle Utsushimi.

"Detective Tsukauchi, the #9 pro hero, or rather heroine, is here."

And after that, she came in, Midnight.

In her usual manner, twirling around and doing a hair flip.

"Good day Tsukauchi, I trust you are as glamorous as always?"

That was so obviously rhetorical.

Not that they didn't get along, Naomasa did consider her a friend, although she could be a bit much sometimes.

How Shota had put up with her through high school he had no idea.

"I'm just fucking lit."

Her expression morphed into a sadder one, and she sighed.

"Unfortunately, I came across something sure to worsen both of our days."

He was suspicious of this, that could mean no sleep for him.

"Came across what?"

"It would be better to speak of in a more private setting."

After settling in his office and closing the door, Midnight began.

"I was doing a random inspection of some of the schools in town. However, I...came across a video a student had taken."

Naomasa raised a brow.

"The nature of said video?"

"It's...easier if I show you."

She then took out a tablet, pressed some buttons, and a video popped up.

To say the detective paled was an understatement.

There was a kid, could've only been 14, and he just...jumped off the roof of the school.

Just jumped, like he was so willing to embrace death.

But then, in the middle of falling, he seemed to change his mind, but it was too late.

That is, until All Might appeared from nowhere and saved him before he struck the ground.

Then the video ended.

Naomasa had no words, he didn't know what emotion to feel.

Until Midnight spoke up.

"I spoke to a friend of that boy, a girl named Carmen, sweet girl. She told me that after years of bullying and being shunned due to being quirkless, the boy, Izuku Midoriya, lost his will to live, and chose to jump off the roof to end his own life."

Then it hit him, the anger.

"What of the teachers? The principal of the school? The administration?"

Midnight's next words only made it worse.
